Triple Forte
I kind of scimmed the thread and can't nobody has mentioned "Grease". Has it even been put on the field? B) Believe it or not a pretty good High School band presented Grease "Really Well" a couple of years ago. I love the music from Grease......and given a chance to be a corps show coordinator...it would be on my list. Triple Forte
t-mac
Some of the ones that I've always thought would be good candidates include: Will Rogers' Follies: I have always thought the music would work well for the Scouts for some reaosn. Thank you Tony L.!!! I thought I remembered agreeing with you on this show. Yes, musically I always thought that the Scouts could do a good job with it, but the thoughts of the Scouts guard in Zigfield Follies costumes is just a little more "progressive" than I want to imagine :sshh:
madalumni
off a film musical, I would love to see Marry Poppins. lol. :P Keith Gee (former Cap Sound Director) used to try to mess with me every year by telling me that Blue Devils were going to do a jazz version of Mary Poppins. It sounded funny at the time, but I bet they could find a way to pull it off.
JeffUsnaDB
I was surprised no-one did Martin Guerre when it was first released....
MikeD
MikeD- the Cadets could do "My Fair Lady", so long as the gal with the mic portraying Liza Doolittle has a good 'cockney' accent! :P She could go "in" the door a poor, dirty wretch.....and come "out" the door a refined society lady! If you were just a 'little' younger, YOU could be Henry Higgins! b**bs "In Hartford, Hereford, and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly ever happen." "In 'artford, 'ereford, and 'ampshire, 'urricanes 'ardly hever 'appen." :P Just how old WAS Rex Harrison the last time he did the role???? 80 or something??? :)
markdewine
MikeD- "The rain in Spain, stays mainly on the plain." Yes, I think Rex was 80-something. Aren't you, too? b**bs

leadsop97
You'd be amazed at what our pit can actually do.....but anyways, on topic.... there's a musical called "Swing" some great charts in there, an many jazz standards but still. craziest arrangement of Caravan you'll ever hear in your life. would be awesome to play. Wildabeast
"Newsies" made a great show for one of my old high school competitors out of Modesto. I'd love to see a corps tackle it. Yep. Beyer played the butt out of that show. They didn't have a flute section... ....only 24 piccolos.
