Slow Adam
I was an engineering major for two years. In phase, in tune, they mean the same thing. Well I was an engineering major for 4 years... Omega =/= phi. Tune is frequency. Phase is position on the wave. Edit: What Tristan said. Edit: What Tristan said. See my reply on the last page... You can still "tune" notes harmonically, although it has a slightly different meaning and different effect on the tuning process. xXDSFLXx
I would also have to include BD 00... their brass was just on fire that night. BD 99 had lots of awesome moments as well. Cavaliers from 2002 on just have amazing intonation and catchy melodic lines as well. I still say BD 88, PR 2003 and 2006
MGCpimpOtimp
.....So if the entire ensemble is Sharp five cents, but every single person is sharp five cents, then it is in tune. No one can really tell without the piece -machine..... Unless you're a timpani player and have the keyboards right in front of you staying in tune (relatively due to weather), while the hornline is 5 cents sharp, makes for a difficult tuning environment.
