Sideways
hahaha i remember that westfield show, i think they dropped out of UIL just so they could practice as much as they wanted Was that the "Because We Are" show? That was an amazing production.
jake_the_hydra
Oh, you silly Cadets . . .
Sideways
You have to give them credit for not naming the show "Band-O."
geluf
hahaha i remember that westfield show, i think they dropped out of UIL just so they could practice as much as they wanted That was one reason. The other being that UIL is a dinosaur that isn't keeping up with the activity at all.
I play the baritone good
I hated "Because We Are", and I'll probably hate this too.

Einstein On The Beach
wrong.better, but definetely not that much. Westfield is very good. ~>conner No, a top 12 div. 1 drum corps is much better than a high school band, even a BOA champion. They are no where close. At all. I hated "Because We Are", and I'll probably hate this too. I partially agree. Though I'm not going to harp on the Cadets before I've even heard any of the actual show (even though I despise Symphonic Movement), people have done that to a corps I've marched in plenty on this board, it's not fair to the corps. jafar
Yea UIL isnt too popular here in texas, the scoring is almost always way off, one judge will have a band 1st place, then another judge will have them 26th, i hate it
JayM
There's definitely a problem when the same organization that manages band competitions also manages sports competitions, academic competitions, etc. Maybe one day we'll get it figured out....I'm not holding my breath. jake_the_hydra
I don't know. There's probably a couple BOA bands that I'd happily wager on over a few drum corps. Mostly because of design and quality of instruction.
