Captional Connotations

I got to thinking that, while all corps are overall amazing, especially when you get into the top 12 of Division, people tend to connotate certain corps with having a tradition of excellence in specific captions. What do you think?

I tend to associate excellence in percussion with The Cadets, brass with Blue Devils, just edging out Phantom, colorguard also with Blue Devils, and visual with Cavies, but I have only really been following shows since 2000.

(Visual wouldn't fit on the poll, so feel free to leave your own comments :P )

Also; please not that I am aware that drum corps exists outside of the top 6, but these are the corps that people most often associate with winning. On the same token, do not be offended if I left of your corps.

It depends on the era. There has been some ebb and flow in the captions and the reputations over the decades.

Of course, you've listed some of the all time (DCI era) best so I can watch / listen to all of the above.

Percussion: BD (though SCV could be a very safe pick)

Brass: Phantom Regiment (this one is hard, they, BD, SCV, and The Cadets all could be picked, just different styles)

Colorguard: The Cadets (BD a close 2nd)
