drumcat
Before anyone just says no automatically because they look MB'ish and don't carry as well, I would put forward the following idea: No one would want to use them, but if they needed to use them, they could. I could imagine that in the Division 2/3 ranks, it might make it easier for smaller groups to acquire sousaphones through borrowing from local band programs, just as it's easier to get other instruments now, like trumpets. As was stated, we believe that one D3 corps did end up using one. What do you think? It's not quite dotting the i in Script Ohio, but would it be a bad thing? Huntington Mallets
I wouldn't be against it, just don't see a reason for it (it just seems like contras are available nowadays) Edited February 2, 2007 by Huntington Mallets

nummy1
As a tuba player, I would NEVER support sousaphones... #### sousaphones... worst instruments EVER!!!!!!!!!!

drumcat
Seriously guys, you have such weak opinions. Make a decision! Just kidding... sheesh! I didn't realize how opposed this thought would be. Maybe it is indeed not that hard to acquire marching tubs, but hey, I admit. I'm a drummer. Einstein On The Beach
You'd be surprised by how many high school marching bands march contras.
zachariaswmb
It's true. A lot have been switching over. I once saw a kid marching contra, and I swear he couldn't have been more than six inches taller than the thing!
