Jerry Noonan, North Star - 1979 and 1980 - not sure about other years. The man had chops made of pure gold! IMHO the best Sop soloist.

I don't know his name, but my favorite is the euphonium soloist in '89 SCV

Robert Gutierrez played the final "It's over now, the music of the night" solo in 89.

There are two that come immediately to mind.

James Hosmer (Baritone - Regiment) - The end of the Winter Palace show, the Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet, and Goin' Home. The man just knew how to play the hell out the horn. Not only that, but his I&E performance of Carnival of Venice is just amazing (and its now posted on You Tube).

J.D. Shaw (Mellophone - Sky & Regiment) - I can't think of a single time where he ever cracked a note, even at rehearsal. He had a monster work ethic. Whenever the corps would pull in for some downtime during the day, he would grab his horn and go practice.

Mike "The Bearded Wonder" Collins, 86 BD

I second that!

...and the '85 Suncoast Sound Bass Line. 5 Drums. 1 Solo. Good Stuff.
