dciguy01
The 10th place round was really a two horse race with 92 VK and 88 Suncoast, but VK edged out the competition in the end to take the round. Here come the niners, and I don't mean the football team! What was the best 9th place show of all time? (Poll will run for at least 24 hours or if I deem the round to be a blowout) **Make honorable mentions if you must, but posts with more than one vote will not count** 9th Place Finishers ----------------------------- 1972 - Cavaliers 1973 - St Andrews Bridgemen 1974 - Blue Devils 1975 - Royal Crusaders 1976 - Blue Stars 1977 - Seneca Optimists 1978 - Crossmen 1979 - North Star 1980 - The Cavaliers 1981 - Spirit of Atlanta 1982 - Freelancers 1983 - The Cavaliers 1984 - Freelancers 1985 - Troopers 1986 - Sky Ryders 1987 - Suncoast Sound 1988 - Spirit of Atlanta 1989 - Suncoast Sound 1990 - Madison Scouts 1991 - Blue Knights 1992 - Blue Knights 1993 - Bluecoats 1994 - Bluecoats 1995 - Colts 1996 - Crossmen 1997 - Blue Knights 1998 - Blue Knights 1999 - Boston Crusaders 2000 - Crossmen 2001 - Boston Crusaders 2002 - Crossmen 2003 - Crossmen 2004 - Boston Crusaders 2005 - Boston Crusaders 2006 - Madison Scouts Previous Winners ---------------------- 10th. tommytimp
Sky Ryders 1986. A truly terrible battery, but maybe the greatest pure-GE show of all time, and a fantastic guard. Edited May 30, 2007 by tommytimp

dciguy01
Tossup between 95 Colts and 03 Crossmen........ '95 Colts for me. Best show they ever put on the field from a talent standpoint.
arrangerx
Tough one. . . my favorites are not necessarily the "best". . . and while I would love to vote for the 2002 Crossmen musically, it wasn't much to watch outside the opening 45 seconds. . . and since I wrote the 1995 Colts show. . . can't vote for it fairly. . . too much insider emotion for me from the most emotional season I ever spent in drum corps. . . So. . . The choices for me are between 1979 North Star, 1980 Cavaliers (they destroyed that crowd!!!), the best Freelancer show ever (1984) and the 1986 Sky Ryders with "Wizard of Oz". Really hard to pick!!!!!!!! 1980 Cavaliers. . . first year of "Softly As I Leave You". . . "Suncatchers". . . the guard step-over. . . rifles spinning on their backs and full corps lay-down while blowing the stands down at the end. . . yeah. . . this one was AMAZING, and everything I still love about drum corps!!! Besides, how can you vote against Jeff Fiedler as the DM and Mark Tatum in the rifle line?
