FlankinIt
I was just wondering who's your favorite BD soloist? Talked about it with a buddy of mine. I wanna see what you people think. =)

BossHogg
The guy with the beard from '86. Simply the best EVER IMO. The Total Package. But - this is kind of like choosing the Playmate of the Year....they're all very good in their own way.
LancerFi
Ms. Ott would have to take it for me, for the bow she takes after it...as well, she played it marching backwards.....
mrshowfan
there was a sweet bari player in 92 like the old school 81-82 sop soloists the 94 Spanish Heart soloist was good (Hardwick?). ####, all the soloists and small ensemble that year were smokin' Good times
bd5times
Sometimes I have a hard time determining if it's the soloist or the parts they are playing. Soloists? Larry Dastrup, Pooh Bear, Mike Collins, Gino Cipriani, and Duane Schimmel. Those guys were consistent, rehearsals as well as performances. Solos that have been played? 78 Sop / Mello during Legend of the One Eyed Sailor 79 La Suerte De Los Tantos (the sop soloists just wailing) 80 Pegasus 80 Dindi 81 Dindi (baris and sops) 82 To 84 Like a Lover 85 Trilogy 86 well....anything Mike played. 88.....pick one. 91 Small ensemble work in the opener.....incredible blend. Those are my favorites. Edited February 6, 2003 by bd5times
EKBari
The baris in the 93 show had the best sounds I've ever heard coming out of those horns.
Michael Oldemeyer
The two baritone soloists in the second tune in 1993 were terrific, but my favorite part was when the second soprano joined in over the top of the duet. That was awesome! Michael Oldemeyer
cheezedogg 23
My personal favorite was the guy the last few years, he's got some sound. But its also showing my age, he's the only BD guy i've heard live. I've heard the 86 guy, but hearin it on tape the same way, just can't do it for as much. But all the guys they had this year 02 were awesome, especially the dude that echoed up to the double Bb.. dang-- *drools*
BigBadMadMan
I gotta give my props to those 2 bad ### sop soloists from '93. Still one of my favorite shows of all time. Those guys were some hosses....I think they spent more time on the front sidelines than they did marching, but I just loved the way the particular screaming solos were strategically placed throughout the show! Especially the small ensemble work in "Strawberry Soup" from that year! Liked the Scouts "Soup" ending better than BD's, but other than that, nothing much tops BD's "Soup" ensemble for me. :D
