geluf
Bluecoats. Currently, they look like the ones that are not neck and neck with the other Top 6. Really? Huh. 1. The Cavaliers - 77.100 2. Santa Clara Vanguard - 77.050 3. Blue Devils - 76.550 4. Phantom Regiment - 76.500 5. Bluecoats - 75.450 6. The Cadets - 75.100 Well I say, THATS odd! geluf
Anyway, after Crown posts their number tonight, they'll be firmly in the mix with the top 6. Really? Did you steal the time machine again??

jjeffeory
They should have been top5 last year. Yup, I agree!
jjeffeory
Which one would that be? BD? ^0^
supersop
Anyway, after Crown posts their number tonight, they'll be firmly in the mix with the top 6. There won't be more than a 2 - 2.5 pt spread up top. Who cares who is over whom at this point? It's less than a week into the season and 6 corps are all performing at a top notch level, only seperated by mere 10ths or 100ths in each subcaption. Point being, they're there, they belong there and they're going to stay there.*edited for quote filter circumvention TS You mods speak German now? NOthing I said should have been filtered ... or was that just paranoia? And Yes ... I stole the time machine.
jjeffeory
Crown better than Cadets and Bluecoats on the same night? I doubt it. They don't have the drums or visual package to pass either corps. Yeah they're hornline sounds nice but the Cadets brass book this year is pretty sweet regardless of the fact that the narratorline overpowers it sometimes. Gino is going to take the Cadets hornline to a point that Crown can't reach this year. Both corps are gonna march better than crown, especially Cadets. I just don't see it happening. I think Gino is going to take the Cadets hornline to a point that will be superior, but I think that Crown will be able to match it. Crown's brass approach has been proven to work well in the past. Just ask the Cadets, Troopers, Star, and other corps who have used the approach.
jjeffeory
Back to this year. . .I can see Crown being top 6 alot easier than I can see Bluecoats. Barring changes to both shows that can change my mind, at this point in time Crown just has a better overall, and more challenging I might add, design. If shows are equally clean come August, it should be Crown who gets the nod. While Coats have taken strides in becoming a great corps the past 5+ years, this design as it stands right now is nice, but not really a step up in terms of design and difficulty from the past couple of years. I see them in 6th or 7th come Finals, at best. Blooos drill looks to be one of the more difficult books this year. The music seems to be one of the more difficult books as well. I'm not sure we've been looking at the same show. I was actually suprised at how much more they've designed into the show drill wise already this year. Hmmm, interesting. cantgetenoughcorps
I personally do not think Crown will make top 5. I absolutely loved their show last year, and thought their placement was a little low. However, when you look at the top 6 from last year, I don't see them knocking off 2 corps to end up in top 5. I think SCV, Cavies, BD and Cadets are a lock for top 4. I know, a lot can change, but I just don't see anyone else in the top 4. I don't see them knocking off Phantom, Which leaves Crown trying to knock off Bluecoats(who have been amazing the last 4 years) and BK(who have really been climbing the ladder) to be 6th. I would really be excited for Crown, I just don't see them knocking off all the corps they would need to in order to be top 5. So I am thinking top 5 SCV Cadets BD Cavies Phantom next 4 Bluecoats Crown BK Boston rounding out top 12 Glassmen Madison Scouts Colts Edited June 21, 2007 by cantgetenoughcorps
