Just how much better is Bluray over DVD?

it depends on the degree to which you're a videophile and audiophile

nobody in my family is, so they don't care about dvd vs bluray. i've found that lots of people are that way, which is weird for me because i'm kind of an extreme video/audiophile.

Unless you see 20/60 or something, the video difference between HD and 4K is negligible, imo. Not worth the extra $$$$$ yet. Same with sound unless you have a killer sound system.

4K will be the industry standard soon enough, but no reason to spend much extra money unless you're a huge theater buff with a big home system.

CD here only. I absolutely love listening to the shows, and watch periodically on the Tube. But mostly I like audio.

VPD = Video Performance Download. If you purchase a VPD for a corps, you get both hi and multi cam.

APD = Audio Performance Download.

you can get them at https://marchingmusicdownloads.com/

I'm not sure when 2016 shows will be available.

What is hi and multi cam? Multi cam meaning the traditional broadcast shown in Movie Theaters or something more? Hi cam meaning just the camera showing the overall show, I'm assuming?

Getting the high quality versions of both video and audio on youtube or anywhere else on the web isn't really that easy.

There weren't enough top 12 shows to justify buying the Blurays, and I'll only be buying 3 VPDs and zero APDs, personally. I'll use youtube for anything else.

I welcome the opportunity to Support DCI and hopefully all the the Corps, though, the purchase of both the Blu-ray and CD ( admittedly, this is a A First time Blue-ray and CD purchase by me from DCI.Must admit this is so due to the inclusion of #11 THE ACADEMY's Drum Corpse Bride" show. tI was quite maddening when DCI did not release a DVD of the 13-25 place Semi-Final Corps last year including THE ACADEMY's "A Step In Time". ) - : due to some lack of licensing clearance issues.
