  1. No research here either, but weren't prelims a seperate competition from quarter finals at the time. Otherwords, They might not have competed with corps that made finals on that particular day. I believe the top eight or so corps had their first appearence during quarter finals or semi finals and prelims had lower scoring corps meeting up first. Again, I am not sure but I think this is the case.
  2. <**> Cavies colorguard score was Bull****!!! BD's guard was all over it!!! HOT Best ever!!!!
  3. How about some of the Stan Getz music from the album titled "Focus". I know it is Sax heavy but, it has some really awesome music. Reminds me a lot of some "abstract jazz" like "Adventures in Time" or even resembles some Don Ellis music. Maybe it has been done already. Fits the likes of BD and Bluecoats.
  4. I remember the dance was a big part of our additions in BD back in the early 90's as well as flag technique. I later asked if I could be in one of the rifle features and was offered a spot. But, most people in BD have had lots of winterguard experience and we had to use all three pieces of equipment throughout the show.
  5. Blue Knights!!!!! This is the first show I ever liked from them. Don't get me wrong, they are always a well rounded corps, but this show is awesome. And yes, I love the Barber piano concerto.....so that makes me biased!!!!
  6. I really enjoyed BD perfomance tonight. It felt the performance. AT the same time Cavaliers has one of the best shows I have ever seen from them ever! I am a great fan of the Godfather, talk about emotion. The robot thing is cool too. I just don't know how to judge two completely awesome shows... By the way PHantom. ....... they were so aswsome
  7. I think he has one with Cadets in 1989. that would make 11
  8. Anybody notice the clips for SCV and Cadets on Season Pass appear their entire show.....
  9. This is the first time I seen weather like this in CA this time of the year...WOW! I hope this doesn't happen next year!!!
  10. Wow!!! just went outside for the first time today....YIKES!! I live in Palm Springs California and it is seriously storming all around the city. Southern CA, doesn't usually get weather like this in July and August.... It is really humid too, this is usually a dry desert.....hmmm. wonder if this is the problem, oh well, my friend just called from San Antonio and said Crown and BK were great!!! I am so jealous, he flew there in his own private plane, lucky #####!
  11. I was about the say the same thing .....Good to know some of "us" are not so closeted :)
  12. Funny story about the guard guys in BD '92. In the "Man Loves a Woman" sequence, the guys actually had red spandex shorts under our black pants. In one regional we took off the pants along with the girls. It was quite a site. Someone mentioned that you couldn't tell the guys from the girls. Needless to say, we kept them on for the rest of the season. :P
  13. I was waiting for that one..... BD '94 girls were hot....oh yeah, end of BD'92
  14. I have been on that train before. It is a great way to travel across country! I enjoyed that clip in the end. I am really excited for BD this year!
  15. Wow. Everyones scores in the top few went down.......except BD.....not surprised at all. Great show BD!!!!
  16. Yeah, I really enjoyed waking up to the show. I even like the big brother stuff. The British clip was hysterical. Keep it coming. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about Indianapolis.
  17. Funny! That was the first time I checked out the segments and I really enjoyed it. Keep them coming. Oh and the clip of that British show.....too funny!
  18. Yeah, I like the piano concerto. they do a unique version of it, but it is very recognizable. They begin with the second movement which is one of my favorites and then they disperse the themes throughout the show. There is even a cadenza in the pit.
  19. I like Blue Knights this years. Maybe because I am such of fan of the Barber Concerto. Maybe I am just too excited about how much better all the corps seem compared to last year. well, the one's I have seen so far.
  20. check out "From the press box" site. If you look at season scores for the recent seasons it should give you an idea. The scores in the last couple of years look pretty progressive throughout the season. Even when the west meets up with the mid-west and east coast corps. IMO I think that BD and SCV just have pretty darn good shows this year.
  21. I am going with BD 1991, bird and bela in B-flat or whatever it is called. I actually like the BD 1990 "see me, hear me, touch me, heal me" segments from "Tommy"
  22. I like the Black eyed peas segment. It is part of the radio surfing theme. Yeah, I noticed the SCV show from this year on his site also. I watched it. I have seen all the west coast group several times this season. I like SCV this year, but I love BD this year. Back to Crossmen. I am really looking forward to seeing them live this year.
  23. Hey, I like that radio section. I wasn't expecting that at all. This is going to be a fun show for me to watch. OF course, I have always enjoyed Crossmen.
  24. Just got back from the show. I was very impressed with BD and Academy! BD seem to get the biggest response from the my part of the audience.
