My friend just told me BD was in oceanside tomorrow...I don't know exactly where. We are going to check them out tomorrow evening.

Yeah, I had a problem with melody also. Well, I actually hear many melodies and motifs. I guess focus of the show is the machine. I get it.

Just watched the show on video.google.com, I liked it. I think it is the entire show. (How it got there, I have no idea) I wasn't a fan of last years show, but this show is pretty cool. Should be neat to see what becomes of it. Didn't think I would be able to see this corps this early in the season. I am really excited about the shows this year. I get to see all the west coast corps next weekend...Cool!

I never been a big fan of the Blue Knights but I am a very big fan of the Barber Piano Concerto. I was in a winterguard that used the piano concerto for their show, but they changed the repertoire right in the middle of the season. I would really enjoy BK this year if they do that concerto.

Didn't santa clara vanguard change a lot of the show throughout the 1992 season. Maybe it was just the guard uniform change. I know they still didn't make top 5 but the end result was pretty cool.

I guess I will go to the fossil Creek Stadium 11 in Fort Worth. I am new in town and hope I am not too lonely.

I am going to go way back, but I really thought the colorguard costumes at the early season of the Santa Clara Vanguard 1990 "Carmen" show fit the theme much better.

The music at the end is very impressive. I am excited about the show now! Go Devils!

That show blew me away....I was soooo into Blue Devil's that year, but when I saw Star I have to admit I was a little taken by the show....BD is still one of my favorite emotional shows that year but yea, Star was totally impressive. And yes, I think they had some dove and other catholic symbloism at the end of the show with those huge silks. It worked very well with Belshazzar's Feast.

It is great to hear the appreciation for the '93 Devils show. It was all about the hornline that year. I was in the colorguard (I didn't drop at finals). In fact, I think there is a close up of me doing the back bend move with my dance partner on the DVD. But, yes that hornline had a lot to be proud of.

Yeah, the boos are going to happen....I remember getting booed when BD won the high colorguard caption in 1992. It didn't bother me at all. I know I did my best and there were plenty of other people that enjoyed what we were doing at the time. Of course there was a big colorguard rivalry between The Cadets and BD throughout the 90's. Boos were expected on both sides.

Didn't BD's guard win on finals night....at least got the highest guard score? I don't think it was the guard that ruined it for them finals week.

I am excited for the Blue Stars. I had to laugh at the "St. Olaf College Degree" that the executive director has. Isn't that where "Rose" from the Golden Girls Television show is from. :P

I haven't heard "Serra Palada" in a while. I remember it being used by winterguards in the early 1990's. It should be interesting on the field.

I just found the 1990 CDs and listened to BD in my car today. That is the reason why I marched BD a couple of years later...

Back to the MARS Topic....I remember in 92 and 93 that it seemed to be a breeding ground for Mosquitos....At nights we would have to take mosquito repellent breaks...If you looked up at the lights, it was just swarming. Was it like that always?
