  1. Can we please put Star 93 to bed already? Much like Godwin's Law (also Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies) I propose that all topics be immediately closed when any comparison to Star 93 is made.
  2. The Bluecoats never were told that they could take the field on Friday. I don't think their 'early' start added any GE. In fact, a few of us didn't realize that their show had begun.
  3. Nikk, forget the teaching gigs, I hear the CEO of Youth Education in the Arts is looking for an assistant. This could be your big chance to get back into the activity. It sounds like they could use a good "Loud" passionate person to keep Hop on track.
  4. Hop wants to eliminate score recaps and other rule changes. http://yeaguy.livejournal.com/ "- system changes - addition of total effect - the elimination of recaps for the net - different method for the assignment of judges to large events - seeding, and other issues that seem to predict the outcome" Why in the world would he want to do that? Please discuss.
  5. If I had any kids, I would of thrown them out on the field last night. Anyone going to the show tonight, with young ones in hand, should watch out for the guy in section E Row 21.
  6. Who is Lucas Oil anyhow? I see they purchased the naming rights for $120 million over 20 years. Funny...I thought the earth would be pumped dry of oil by then.
  7. Yes. Seemed like the best way to make it truely acoustically designed.
  8. We were initially told it would have open air sides to let the sound out. By the looks of the tour, those will be upper deck only.
  9. You will be sitting in a big hole. I can not image this will improve the sound quality. Also, no majestic outdoor views. Think of the Metrodome in Minneapolis without the roof.
  10. The virtual tour shows that the field is below ground level. That's not good. It's a dome with windows and a sun roof. It may be ok...time will tell.
  11. I doubt that I would have watched Phantom's rehearsal anyway. They go on too late. If you watch their late afternoon run through, how would you make it to the show on time?
  12. Even if the Cadets could march and play a championship show, there is about a 50% chance that their amps would malfunction and ruin it all.
  13. Vanguard is too far back to win. I would love to see them place 3rd. They are really only a couple points back from that. Madison may fall to eleventh or twelve if they don't perform well. I doubt they will move up at all. Their guard scores are just too low. If I were with the Cavaliers, I'd be worried about Phantom. A crowd favorite and a stronger music and visual (other than guard) program than the Devils. If they execute they can win.
  14. There are some single tickets available on ebay. Item number: 200014507538
  15. Even with this video, I am confident many will still mess it up.
  16. After repeated exposed to amps, Tom and Marie experienced certain changes to their bodies.
  17. In order to avoid detection from the U.S. Military, Usama bin Laden and top al-Qaeda leadership try out their new disguises.
  18. I told you they would kick us out if you didn't oil your squeaky knee.
  19. I'll stop questioning the judging when God decides to come down from Heaven and give us the real scores. Until then, everthing else is fair game. It's all part of the entertainment. By the way, I'm also hoping that God can give us a simplified tax code, an energy efficient car and tell us who built the pyamids.
  20. I don't consider the Blue Knight part of the DCI elite. At least not in the past. Maybe that's why when I saw them around 4 points of the Cadets, I had to do a double take. I didn't like the Cadets show when I saw them earlier this month, but I didn't hate it either. Maybe the judges aren't giving them enought credit. It's not likely that the Blue Knights will beat the Cadets this year...right?
  21. Technically, Spirit's score did jump three points since the last time they were judged (Saturday night). Of course the real issue is a corps' score compared to others. Take a look at the spread between Crown and Spirit from today and last night. Corps Saturday Sunday Crown 87.0 86.9 Spirit 81.275 84.1 Spread 5. 725 2.8 I don't see how the decreased spread had anything to do with an "typical afternoon to evening drop". Sorry, I had my numbers messed up on the first post.
  22. I think it is healthy to see swings in scores between judges. It proves that sloting is not occuring. Perhaps a judge that scored a corps too low last night will see the scores from tonight and adjust their methods, if necessary. Mistakes happen, no one is perfect.
  23. Spirit jumped from 81.275 to 84.10. The colts may need to set their sights on the Glassmen if they want to get into the big dance.
  24. The Cadets can't get their amps set correctly outdoors. How are they going to sound decent inside. Cav - 93.4 Devils - 92.25 Phantom - 91.5 Blue - 90.95 Cadets - 89.90
