I don't think there is any reason why they shouldn't play it, I just hope it isn't a repeat of 2002, where they took what could have been a very tactful, moving show and chocked it full of campiness that totally ruined it.

i voted for pr, scv and cavies 2000 though i honestly felt should have been a tie, the other two years i thought who the winner should have been was quite clear.

Crossmen 2007 Music Design
tubacurt replied to Aaron Guidry's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
i think it was bad grammar. i think he was saying, crossmen's show was so good and effective, the fact that it was only 16th, wow. that's how I read it anyway. maybe he's just a ###### though, who knows. -
The ten most annoying moments in DCI history
tubacurt replied to Melissa Sampson's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
i think people yelling "i believe in no microphones" and all that other random ######## that people yelled during the cadets show/bringing their hate on to dcp is the new number one annoying moment in drum corps -
there's some #### good music schools in the big ten; indiana, michigan, northwestern... i still think concert features in dci would be lame though.

Are shows getting too complicated to watch?
tubacurt replied to sday88's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
while it's definitely too hard to capture every visual and musical nuance in a modern dci show on the first viewing, why is that a bad thing? If you were designing a show wouldn't you want a complex one, that made people buy the dvds/come to more shows because there was so much cool #### that they just had to see it again? -
The price is wrong?
tubacurt replied to DrinkinOuttaCups's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
man, this is the first time i've seen it without bob barker. it's kinda unnerving. i like how the only people who watch the price is right are old ladies and college dudes. -
Non winning championship shows
tubacurt replied to Mouthpiece1234's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
anybody else think 03 and 04 shoulda been switched? i guess it all comes out even in the end, but spin cycle was such a well designed show, especially visually, and it was nearly as clean as BD that year. and the summer trains blues mix, i felt, was much better than 007. -
Females To Make The Snare Line

Crossmen 2007 Music Design
tubacurt replied to Aaron Guidry's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
yo, i just listened to this now, but i like that midi more than i did the crossmen show. maybe it was the drum parts, but that #### grooved so hard. -
I feel the 1000th post should have been Einstien #####ing about how lame this thread is.

umm, the 2007 cavies' music was definitely a step out of the comfort zone of what they have been doing 2000-2003, 2005-2006. and more enjoyable, albeit not as clean, as those years i thought. i thought the drill was pretty different as well.

I enjoyed the Cadet's show so much more than the blue devils, yet i really have no qualms about BD winning because they were cleaner, even though they were incredulously boring. Cavaliers had one of their most enjoyable shows in years(is that a... wait a minute, yes, yes it is, it's a melody. wow.), but it wasn't as clean as the green team usually is. Phantom had some great moments but jazz running for half your show does not make up for bad drill design. so basically i would have had them how the judges had them.

Using 2007 The Cadets as an introductory tool
tubacurt replied to drumcat's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
if it was a total newbie i would probably use Cavies 2004 or BD 2006 for the recognizable music factor. if it was someone with a musical background I might consider Cadets 2007, although i would be more likely to use something like star 93 or SCV 2003. -
Something cool that Xerox is doing...
tubacurt replied to RBarron10's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
and no one has refuted him with little more than what amounts to name-calling. -
thanks for the link, Radiant Voices is amazing, first non-band stuff i've heard from him. yea for the most part Ticheli is pretty whack. Symphony No. 2 is good though(those French Horn rips + Cadets Mellos sound like a good combo to me), never heard American Elegy. God I hope they don't play Vesuvius.

BD last year had a very good tuba solo. that guy had awesome awesome tone. Glassman last year had a very long one but it was kinda hard to hear.
