  1. The judges. (Notice they performed their show on the field in traditional uniforms during last year’s non-competitive season.)
  2. Crown brass may have had a slight off night? Kind of hard to tell over Flo, I'm interested to see the spread.
  3. I agree, honestly it's worse live sometimes (especially if you're low down, close to the amps).
  4. This is an extremely mature and tasteful brass book. 👌
  5. Man they have really perfected this type of sound over the years.
  6. That's because each tuba is mic'd, which given everything I honestly don't blame them for doing 🤐
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_English#Phonology
  8. It seems like she has an Indian English accent, no?
  9. I’m actually surprised there’s no word from their design team on what influenced this, why they chose to have an honest-to-God shako and plume and how that fits with their show. Obviously used to be the norm of what a drum corps uniform was, no questions asked, but in the WGI-era surely there was something driving this decision?
  10. Hornline is definitely holding back early in the season but it sounds like they have something truly great developing.
  11. Somehow I doubt they were talking about the hornline!
  12. Reminds me of the late-season ending from 2001, where after Festive Overture they reprised the motif from the end of the opener out of nowhere. One of the all-time greats.
  13. I can think of only a few music books this cohesive among the top 12 in recent memory. Almost no dead space musically for “restaging” as far as I could tell. Could just as well be a brass book from 1989 as far as I’m concerned (and I mean that obviously in the best way possible). Way to go Phantom!
  14. Anyone else digging INT’s repertoire this year? They actually develop a full musical phrase, and repeat it even!
  15. This might be the best I can remember Pacific Crest sounding in June? Wow. Sure some kinks to work out but I’d put them ahead of Mandarins in brass performance and content.
