  1. i believe his real name used to be in a signature, plus a link to a website...i know that colleges have looked at facebook (and similar sites) as well while "investigating" candidates so if you're wanting to teach at any level...get two of everything!
  2. i know this might shock some, but i've come around to wanting to know (and emailed DCI to let them know)....Allentown order is released and Pio is first again!!! c'mon DCI what happened to parity? make it all random and get it right it said a reply might happen between 18/24 hours...did anyone else hear anything individually?
  3. the tune is "Garryowen," [sic] and it has become Pioneer's signature "exit" as they've done it for years and will most likely continue to do it until they aren't allowed to any more...i do believe (not positive) that the rule states tap into field (actually now that i'm thinking about it, i think it's no longer a tap, i think it's only a clap), whatever off the field.
  4. ahh, the wonders of cloning...imagine when the other corps catch on
  5. 4'33" was written for INT...i think it was their original ballad
  6. as you mentioned, you should have gotten an alter-ego....i have 3 myself
  7. tell ya what, i was a little surprised to see it even for PR
  8. they just got a brand new complete line of kanstul custom 2 valve G's last year.....as someone pointed out to me: your tax dollars at work (ducks and covers)
  9. i have a friend named bill going to finals (i know that's not what you meant)
  10. Long Beach wasn't a regional. the only reason i made that list was to point out to the person i had quoted that the 35 shows that he was referencing didn't happen this year
  11. love that sig....INT was phenomenal in Atlanta...good luck on their push for finals
  12. i was just wondering about Steel Town this morning...but is the full name Bandettes Steel Town? i thought they changed to Steel Town to go co-ed
  13. happened in '03, happened in '05...sucks but they've got to be used to it
  14. well i believe a tick was .05 of a point, so 22 ticks would be 98.90....but even than bias was possible...could one "overlook" a tick? i'm sure it happened. i would like to point out there are a number of criteria on the judges sheet, both front and back, so it's not just a number picked completely out of the air...that being said, yes the judging system needs to be revised
  15. what about the random draw? DCI mentioned the lineups for SA and Atlanta were grouped by averages from others, plus random draws in groups of three...does this seem likely for quarters as well?
  16. remember, a new crew takes a little time...didn't they just get a new director recently? 92-96 they didn't score any higher than 5th...three years later and a share of the championship (which i still say should have been theirs outright)...they'll be ok
  17. i don't feel like doing math...does that still leave Pio as first on?
  18. i would wonder if instead of it being a bad design, is it too much for the corps? i don't mean they can't perform it, but one of the great things about Academy is how they have taken baby steps in the corps' development to ensure a quality product and organization...but maybe they tried to make a leap when they should have just stepped it up a notch or two?
  19. well what are the regions? i mean there is DCI-Pacific, DCI-Midwest, DCI-East (i think) and is there a DCI-South? if so...designate one show in each region as the regional and just name it the DCI (region) Regional...that takes away any questions...and yes all the others are major events, so as an example, Denver, Madison, Allentown, Atlanta....or so.
  20. again, i'm pretty sure (no evidence, just an assumption) that the corps know ahead of time things like this...there is an entire section of the dci website that has tons of info just for the corps' that we never hear about. i would agree that you take the average of the all-corps regionals, though i think adding additional shows and possibly dropping numbers might be too much.
  21. well i guess then i'll ask why are Denver/Orlando regionals? are they? Stanford was the DCI West Championships...isn't that a region? again this is all a great point...i'm just asking for definitions....i want DCI to define the following: full-tour, regional...until that's done, there will always be issues
