  1. Hi "Lindap!" I find it interesting that you use the word "band." Of course you mean drum corps, but to use the "band word" BITD was a moral sin! Not so sure now!
  2. VERY interesting to see this "line-up." The Garfield jump in score was A LOT, let's just say. Congrats Nat B. on the snare solo (BD).
  3. Ch,ch,ch,ch,ch....Changes! Just like in government...ready or not, here they come!
  4. Both! For me, still short shorts, but not on for long either! (Can't find the 80's version though!)
  5. I ran into "Wiggy" at Finals in '07 with his beautiful wife. What a blast to him after so many years, albeit, I would have never recognized him! Just as cool as I remember him!
  6. HA! Those were the good 'ol days on TV! I even had a perm in '80, never thinking that having to stuff it in a shako was a chore!
  7. When you're asked by co-workers if you've ever been in the military. "You sure have a sharp right turn!" Drumming on the counter because you're really a drummer...
  8. Yes, they went to Fever for a few years and produced some great drum lines. In fact, I was offered a "tech" positions in '83, but found the commute too burdensome.
  9. Ya, the bus thang! I drove over a 1000 miles this week and glanced at every tour bus...and why would they even be on the road? Diesel fumes, a given, esp. when I was standing in back of the bus at Disneyland and they started it up...I coughed for days. Freshly cut grass with sprinklers going... and still being able to play your old drum solo on the steering wheel pretty clean, esp. the flam drags and inverts!
  10. JW was one of my drum instructors when I marched with the Conquistadors in '79 and '80...(a Class A/open corps). He and Dale Lofgren worked our butts off with chops! He got things done, that's for sure!
  11. Wow...so cool to see this picture! I marched with three of the five snares shown here the next two years. They were so young and so good!
  12. I didn't mean to make a big deal about the shako or otherwise...just a "passing fancy!" :big hug: I totally agree that the Renegades style is sunglasses and that is SO cool and I'm glad to have partaking thereof!
  13. Would love to see Shako's or ANYTHING on the head to block that Stockton sun...guess I'm an old fart...love shaking the plumes! Great Uniform, I might add!
  14. I might look into this...I live in Citrus Heights and will have Mondays free in a couple of months! I'm not available on a lot of weekends, though, so we shall see!
  15. Yes, they made it in, "in those days." No more "Classics" allowed, however.
  16. Wow! This thread has actually stayed positive! Ya, the jacket thang is kind of cool, a way to show pride in the corps and the activity, no matter what the placement. It was always cool to pull into the parking lot in the buses too. First on, last on, have done both. It didn't matter. The heart rate picked up a bit as we were in half uni and anticipating warming up.
  17. "Newbies" All I can add is: "Shut up and respect from whence you cometh."
  18. I don't think so. I couldn't get my '76 Legacy to work for some reason on my computer to double check...bummer!
  19. SCV switch over to matched was not in '76, but '77.
