  1. SCV just got a score of 89.8 at San Diego Regional. Watch out Dayton.
  2. No, George is not the Corps Director. George's position is tactical in assisting CEO Jeff Fiedler and COO Kathy Serksnis get things done. He knows how to execute. Jeff is really the Corps Director this year.
  3. That's probably the huge difference. Somebody did something about it. And immediately, even.
  4. Thankfully, more good news about Joe. From Devils' website. Thank you Dave Gibbs for providing these updates. Update Saturday August 2 Joe is looking much better. He is able to get up and walk. His vision is clearing and dexterity is returning. He is eating better and even ordered pizza for dinner. We still have another 24 hours of close watching. He is obviously sad not to be with his fellow BD members. Please continue with the thoughts and prayers ... they are working!! Thank you for all of your concern. It has been awesome!!! The corps is doing better and they are are excited about the good news about Joe. They have been through a lot this summer and are a amazing group of young people They are extremely excited about the upcoming week and are determined to make the final week of shows the most spectacular yet. As with Joe, they are all fighters and determined.
  5. Jeff was hired by SCV because SCV needed a leader. I think everyone knows that Jeff will always be a Cavalier in his heart but SCV is very lucky and happy to have him.
  6. occWhy, yes he was around when the announcement was made on Sunday afternoon around 3:00. Most significant "move" for Santa Clara in 25 years. And yes, he will be moving to northern California.
  7. I also marched with Paul during my years in the Santa Clara Vanguard and although everyone was in awe of Rob Carson in those days, Paul was really the man that held it all together. He was a class act and very humble. May he rest in peace.
  8. The quartet in Folk Song Suite was Tim Benge, Howard Rotsch, Mike McAdams and John Palmer, all Anaheim Kingsmen sops in the 60's or 70's. Great job, guys.
  9. For those interested, the Kingsmen Alumni Corps will be rehearsing (and staying) at Cal State Long Beach the entire week before DCI. We'll also have access to Veterans Stadium in Long Beach a few evenings that week. Come check us out.
  10. Thirty-four years later and still a classy organization. Thanks for representin', Joe!! :)
  11. Um, they'll be doing more than that. We're marching a full drill. :)
  12. Rick did not leave SCV just so that he could spend more time with his kids.
  13. You wouldn't think so, would you. But, in fact, it is happening. I think they're just too stupid to even know what they are doing and their own agendas, egos and power trips are apparently much more important than the well-being and viability of the Corps.
  14. Absolutely agree with you. And add the General Manager to the list of people running the org into the ground.
  15. Murray has submitted his resignation to the organization. Whether or not they choose to make it pulic probably doesn't really matter much to him. They're prettty slow moving in matters like these anyway.
  16. Because we know he isn't coming back to SCV and there is discussion swirling around that he will probably end up teaching somewhere else.
  17. Jim and Murray are an excellent team. However, a lot of us expect Murray to surface elsewhere.
  18. Shirley Dorritie is someone highly recommended by several "big names" in the activity. SCV, are you listening??
  19. Lee and Frank are welcome to apply for the position. Maybe they have.
