  1. Yeah, I'll try to get to the show early and watch them warm-up in the lot, as well as watch their performance and I'll write what I thought when I return.
  2. Seeing the 'Scades scores makes me curious about what exactly is going on with them. I'll be watching them closely on Friday to see what it is about their show. I don't know whether it's because it's early, because they're unprepared, because they're making too many changes, or what. They seemed really optimistic about this season too. This definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
  3. OK, I must have gotten wrong information over the phone. Corpsreps.com also says 72.900 now.
  4. Over here in Portland, OR (where we don't get too many shows), the only show in the area has 5 corps and the most expensive tickets are $35, the cheapest being $15 (for students). Hopefully we'll be able to get more shows/corps later on in the season next year since finals are going to be in CA. However, the Lincoln show isn't bad considering you get to see the Cadets and Cavaliers. Probably a good show to introduce someone.
  5. So I just talked to someone in OC, and according to him they scored a 72.950, which is a bit off what was posted here, so you may want to wait until scores are posted on DCI's site (which isn't letting me in right now) until you take the numbers as final.
  6. My bad. I fixed the score, it should be correct now. The placement didn't change though. My apologies (thanks for letting me know).
  7. Not bad at all. Blue Knights made a good jump, SCV went up a bit. The Oregon Crusaders surprised me quite a bit. The score puts them just over what BDB got a couple of days ago. Click the link in my signature for updated standings.
  8. No problem. I originally created the site because it helps me keep track of the corps better over the summer, but then I figured I might as well make it public since there are probably other people who want to see the scores too. I update it as much as I can. It's almost always updated every night, unless I'm on vacation (I'm currently looking for someone to cover for me while I'm gone).
  9. I'm able to get through to the site, but DCI hasn't posted the scores yet. I also haven't been able to get a hold of anyone I know at the show.
  10. I think doing something like this would be possible. It would have to be controlled by DCI though. And it doesn't necessarily mean that DCI controls what is on the website. All DCI has to do is give a general template to each site and have the sites designed by a single person. The hardest part, and probably the reason that it hasn't been done (yet) is that it would require loads of organization and some money from DCI (or the individual corps) for this idea to go forward.
  11. The Cascades score is predicted to go down because that is what the mathematical progression has been so far. Chances are that it will not happen. The formula is incorrect just because of the lack of data that there is for Cascades. Once they compete in more competitions, the prediction will be much more accurate. The scores were actually pretty surprisingly close though.
  12. Crossmen did a great job, and PR also did very well. These scores seem quite high, but that may be because the corps haven't competed for a couple days now due to July 4th. We'll find out at the next competition I guess.
  13. The DCP scores/statistics page is updated only after scores are posted on dci.org, and after all the competitions have taken place (usually updated very late in the night). You can click on the link in my signature for updated standings including the two competitions from today. I try to update that page as often as possible. Great score for the Cavaliers, boosts them back up into first place. Also, I'm surprised, what's happening with the Cascades this year? This is much lower than they normally are.
  14. Many people see Division I as the most important part of DCI, even though Division II and III deserve just as much credit as the Div. I corps. Although many times the Division I shows sound better, the people in Div. I corps work just as hard as the others, and should deserve as much credit. It's getting people to understand that that is the hard part.
  15. Personally, I didn't really love any of the shows in 2004 or 2005 (except maybe 007 in 2004), but I'm really liking what I hear this year. Blue Devils are sounding amazing, I love what the Bluecoats have done, and the Cavaliers sound very good with their "Machine" theme. I haven't heard anything recent from The Cadets, but I loved everything about their show (except the vocals). SCV is doing MUCH better than last year, and looks like they're making some big improvements, and sounding good (haven't heard too much of their show either, but I'll get to see them live this week). So yes, in my opinion, I would say that this is a great year for DCI... and still lots of potential.
  16. Yeah, there hasn't been too much about BD, but I think the reasons behind that are A) not that many people have actually seen BD, since they live on the east coast. B) BD isn't really as controversial as shows like the Cadets, and those shows have a lot more to talk about IMO. Personally, I agree with the person above me who says that it is an amazingly designed show. They have done an excellent job of putting the show together. The percussion is very strong, and the brass is just as strong as you would expect from the Blue Devils. I think this show has a lot of potential, as it is written and designed very well. I can't wait to see video of the entire show.
  17. 1. Blue Devils 2. Cavies 3. Cadets 4. Bluecoats 5. Phantom 6. SCV 7. Madison Scouts 8. Carolina Crown 9. Blue Knights 10. Glassmen 11. Boston 12. Crossmen 13. Spirit
  18. The corps as a whole is doing much better than last year. Their first show will be tomorrow, and then they will continue for a couple weeks, after which they will have some more all-days. They are at about 100 members.
  19. I think BD has a great shot at winning percussion this year. Listening to their preseason CD really makes me want to see the show live. The percussion sounded amazing for that early in the season. The pit does a great job of backing the ensemble (and leading it at times). I haven't heard too much from PR, but I can say that BD is looking really really good so far. However, PR is already up to a 16.8 in percussion (16.5 tonight), so I think it'll be a good one to watch.
  20. Both the Scouts and Bluecoats did very well at this competition. The Bluecoats are once again just fractions of a point away from The Cadets, and Madison Scouts made a good jump in the standings. Click the link in my signature for some updated standings including tonight's competitions.
  21. I know. In fact, we pretty much beat them to it every contest. I was just telling him that they're not going to be up on SCV's site that fast, and they definitely won't be there if they're not on DCI's site. DCI must be real slow tonight. They're STILL not up.
  22. They haven't posted tonight's scores yet. In fact, I don't even think the Pleasant Hill scores are up on DCI yet. You can either check this thread or my signature link.
  23. They started tonight. They scored a 69.900 in Westminster.
  24. Well, the Bluecoats are having an amazing year, so you shouldn't consider ending up beneath them as a bad thing. I think at this point, Bluecoats are totally capable of beating the Cadets. They're only fractions of a points behind, and they've kept that margin. If you look closely, the gap isn't really widening. I think it's a little too early to predict it, but as of now, I can see the Bluecoats finishing on top of the Cadets, although it may not be likely.
  25. Yeah, they dropped quite a bit, while the corps around them went up quite a bit. It could also just have been a bad performance, and there's the fact that the corps around them were at different contests, so you can't be too critical in comparing them. I think it's just a temporary snapshot.
