  1. I'm on Troopers chat tonight! Talked to a mom at the show. The ending came out tonight. Motion, lots of motion. They had two hours of ensemble on it because of weather. Troop and Trooperland are VERY excited about all of this!
  2. Excellent. You must never wash it and were it every show day from now until finals night!
  3. Thanks for the quick reviews! Helps a lot when we can't be in attendance.
  4. 1/2 of the saber logo and a feather, I think.
  5. It was the IU "football team" practicing on another field...... Nice color guard gock block too....
  6. The mello from Mandarins is fantastic. Esteban the trumpet soloist for Troopers has been rock solid ALL year.
  7. 4 - Blue Stars 12 - Carolina Crown 17 - Madison Scouts - 16 - Phantom Regiment 14 - Santa Clara Vanguard - 17 - Troopers +
  8. I emailed and asked what the procedure is for determining performance order at Quarter Finals was. I asked if the information was posted and and suggested that I believe this policy should be set in stone and clearly published for the benefit of all member corps. Ah, brownies - WITH chocolate chips.
  9. The community needs to really understand how long it has taken the organization to become competitive again to understand where some, like Granny, are coming from. It has been since 1999 that we have had a shot at Friday night. It has been since 1986 that our corps got the finalist patches. We have been waiting for, and wanting, competitive success in a passionate way for much longer than most Corps have waited and now we finally have great show design and a talented Corps AND a shot at that success. The anger from Trooper Fan comes from how they have had their show, performance and design be recognized and supported by the judging community - to a certain extent, and then today, after an exciting performance that appeared cleaner than corps in our block, we are rebuffed. The show today was the cleanest I've seen from the Troopers this year. Now, granted other corps have made improvement as well. The thing that causes us indigestion, heart burn and high blood pressure is that we were beating some corps by nearly five points only a few days ago. Today Trooper Fan is upset and in our estimation, rightfully so.
  10. K Daddy, What does BISP mean? The Trooper guard performed as well or better than every guard in our block today. The score was too low. Troop should be either beating Spirit or on their heels.
  11. Michael, Nice interview with Mr. Gough! Thanks for that bit of insight into America's Core. To those who have not yet seen this show, DO NOT think "boring black and white documentary about the Ford Model-T assembly line!" This has action, a great sound track and very good cinematography.
  12. I bought this movie in Cheyenne at the Trooper 50th celebration. As a Trooper homer, of course I love it. I've also watched it as a fan of drum corps. I can highly recommend this very captivating look inside the Troopers and life in drum corps. If you are a drum corps fan, order the movie. $25 is a good price for a movie that pulls you in for 2 hours and won't let you off the couch until it's over!! There are interviews with members and admin and a view into the Troopers past and how they have risen from the financial abyss. Go here to order! Heard this on the fan net today.
  13. I followed the link to CM - hilarious! I love phantom's show AND to the guy who says their drill doesn't move..... ah, what? Have you watched the opener? Here's a shot of PEPTO raised to keeping Grany's bowels calm and Phantom's score high!
  14. I will watch the Troopers show two times during finals week. I think we will be a semi-finalist corps in 2008. The show design is good. I think the end of sasparilla needs to be beefed up. I just - stops. I hear there's a new ending, so cool.
  15. And up go the Troopers as well! Onward and upward.
  16. Thanks, Bill I was cruising dcifan net today looking for some Colts, but they don't have a complete show up there from last weekend :( When will they have a show posting?
  17. This looks like a very competitive show! Anyone have a weather report? Go TROOOOOOP!
  18. I'm going to get to see it in Cheyenne when the Trooper Alumni gather on July 12! I'm stoked. I've heard a lot about this and I will OWN it as well.
  19. In 2007 The Troopers placed 20th. That was the BEST 20th place corps in the history of drum corps. I love the Troopers. God bless the 11th Ohio Cav.
  20. Scott, brass caption head, spent every minute of everyday on the phone and he's at it again. Cruise on over to Trooperland and check out what's going on. www.troopersdrumcorps.org
  21. My two cents: The return of the Troopers to DCI. Not only their return, but the quality of that return. (I have to preface the actual comment I want to make with) I think that their 20th place finish was absolute BUSH and DCI needs to look at how scores are averaged for corps that participate in more regionals and those that compete in fewer regionals, as it applies to performance times at Q finals. The Troopers are the best 20th place drum corps in the history of DCI. The Corps came from NOTHING. Tax problems. No director. No staff. No drum corps. Nothing. To return to the field as a touring, competitive Division 1 drum corps is nothing short of amazing. Props to Mike Ottoes, Executive Director and the BOD. Who ever suggested Fred Morris as the Corps Director should be entered into the Trooper Hall of Fame, be knighted and given a ticker tape parade through the entire state of Wyoming. Fred Morris is the man. The Troopers are THE REAL DEAL. This is THE single most amazing thing in DCI in 2007. Joel Williams
  22. As the face in those info/recruiting videos from last year, I attest to the fact that Mike "didn't have much to work with" !!!! Still it was great fun to do. His Trooper documentary trailer can be found here. Mike Gough does quality work. The movie's original focus was to be about how the cycle of American history and the cycle of Trooper history are interrelated. I would be interested to hear how he's developed that after a summer of driving all night and shooting footage all day! Joel Williams
  23. Wrong. I personally am not happy. Troopers are happy to be alive however, the Troopers are on the field to compete, not get dropped 3.1 points from their last show after spending several all days getting better. I wish scores didn't matter, but they do and 77.5 is bush.
