Considering that Phantom Regiment seems to have alot of 4th place finishes, there 2007 program was very strong. Then again, 2007 overall was extremely competitive and sometime I don't think the scores represent how close they were. But thats me. also, 1995 Scouts has got to be one of the best

Lying about corps experience
no_itsnotadash replied to eightyonepointthree's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I have met quite a few people who have been. A guy I marched with lied about having past corps experience with a top 6 drum corps. The funniest part is that a year later he said he marched 07 Madison Scouts, keeps tagging himself in pictures. Only one problem though.... he's tagging himself in there pictures from 2006. Which is quite impossible, considering he was with us all summer. -

This is true.... though I had to read over it twice, followed by a long "oooOOOOOooOOOoooOOoooo" -

I like Coats but it's just a title. :D -
Madison more than likely. I'd say 11th... just based purely on guessing

Congrads Mempho. Looking forward to see them kick some major butt -
quoted for truth. I guess we're just not educated enough to understand what we want.

Memphis Sound is a toss up. Staff come and go, I would just like to see a consistence staff, then maybe there would be more of a vet return, and more progressive placements. Its a great organization, a good place to march, hopefully we will see a good staff return and build on a great past season. I would love to see a Div II size corps this year, maybe a 40-56 member hornline. That would make me happy.

The "best" mouthpiece is technically whatever you make it. I like my 5G... no matter what anyone else thinks. Caption heads, lesson teachers, parents, whatever, will tell you "X mouthpiece" is what you need. A suggestion from me though is try a 5G, Schilke 51D, and a Denis Wick 4SM since these are always what people tell me are the "standards".

It comes from point of view... I, for one, cannot stand Yamaha brass. I guess it's because I played on a YEP-321 for 4 years and hated it.

I agree with the statement that the consistency is a problem. I have stated before that of the 4 euphoniums that were in my section... 1. Was stuffy and had spit valve problems 2. Was more open and generally an OK horn (this was my horn) 3. Open and free blowing, no problems 4. Kind of stuffy, but not bad.

LEAVE GEORGE ALONE!
no_itsnotadash replied to LoveKathyG's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
First time I say the video I was like "Man that girl is ######".... only shortly to discover "she" was....well... a he. ANYWAYS GH has done alot for drum corps, even if I don't agree with the changes he's pushing right now. -
Ok... I am not an 'Academy hater" BUT if Academy can not afford a normal Division I touring schedule, then why did they leave Div II/III, which from my understanding, is what that Division is for? Div II/III have schedules that allow for partial tours because places like where I marched aren't financially ready for a nation wide tour like many Division I schedules.

I like my LM-35. Great mouthpiece. I own a total of 18 mouthpiece. I have a Denis Wick 6BS which is a good alternative to a 6 1/2 AL... it has a more V-shape cup and a better rim than the 6 1/2AL. The Denis Wick 4SM is also good. The Schilke's rim tend to give kinda me a muddy sound to my articulations so I'm not a huge fan but it is not a bad mouthpiece... wish I ould find my 53 now!

I always seem to talk about Dynasty on these forums but I actually really like Dynasty horns. I played on brand new DEG Bb euphonium last year and liked it. In fact, the corps I marched with won on those horns. I like my sound on a Bb baritone than other brands, including Kanstul.
