I went to Jersey the first time with Ted Heuman. We went to the Post, hung out for a bit and went and watched the Cabs rehearse. The trophy case was incredible. A lot of accomplishment there. Thanks Ted RIP. I attended a DCA meeting there as well, where they draw for the shows. It was interesting to see how that works and to put a face to people you read about here.

If you say so......my mistake.

If I'm understanding correctly, you're saying corps "A" is keeping all the dues money paid by the members and is inactive? Whats more they can't march with corps "B" until they pay inactive corps "A" the balance of their dues? That can't be the intent of the rule. You are expected to get value for your dues, a years worth of marching. If that opportunity is not provided, to me, the agreement is void and I would want my money back. Being a realist, I know that's probably not going to happen. At the very least, they should be allowed to march in corps "B". When Erie Thunder went inactive, I was pretty irate about it if anyone remembers. Dues money was part of the reason why.

I have a problem with any sentence that starts like that. All these other threads talk about boosting fan attendance. If a fan is happy with the state of drum corps and goes to shows, he or she is not the problem. If you feel that way, don't vote for the negative answers or don't vote. It's funny how certain people here can suggest any ridiculous proposal they want and people don't jump all over him. I thought the questions in the poll covered it pretty well. The results are interesting, but nobody is talking about that...

DCA's Lack of Competitive Parity - Food for Thought

I agree with that 100%. The best corps wins, period. I've experienced first hand what I perceived to be skewed scoring, and it did demoralize me to the point where I stopped marching for a time. You work very hard all year, you deserve a fair score. The Bucs are great, even when they didn't win. Change is inevitable. Several corps are capable of beating them and are working hard to do it. Enjoy the show. -
Try marching to that.

I'm reading this in the DCA forum, I don't know what you all are reading...... Thunderbirds hang out at the Erie zoo in the summer......really! American Legion in the winter. The choice of where to get wings/pizza/beer is made day of practice.

question: Do you know what they do to those birds? answer: I don't know, but it was delicious.

Anyone know of any any corps in the other televised parades?

What Sparked your Drum Corp Interest?

Pittsburgh Rockets observation. The year year you played "Patton" 72? Anyway, your kickoff was "Polivyitsian (sp) Dances, something like that. I have never heard another corps do it. It was really memorable and. well, cool. "Stranger in Paradise for concert I think. You played "Summer of 42" exiting the field. What a great show and well played. -

So you're the one who did that! My mother immediately forbade me to touch a hockey stick after that. I was in the Birds during the Commander - Rocket years. They both were awesome. I have the same memories mentioned earlier. Pittsburgh's "Patton" and Commanders In-A-Godda-Davida drum solo stand out in my memory. -

My uncle JoJo (Gary Matczak's dad) and my brother got into the NE Shoreliners. My Dad & I used to travel around watching them. When I was in grade school, say early sixty's, I used to run home for lunch. My Dad would see me coming and put on the Skyliners record full blast. Been hooked ever since. -

Say something nice about a 2010 corps/show

Kidsgrove Scouts were very entertaining and powerfull. Minnesota Brass, Alliance and Fusion made my favorites list as well. All were great, really. -
Well played, sir.

Glad to see MCL planning a comeback.

Front ensemble percussion is loud enough now for me. At DCI shows, I find myself focusing on the amplified synthesized pit instead of the corps. Great if your a pit person I guess. Change away if that is the consensus. I'm aged out anyway.

Very nice. -
I agree with you. When I read that he hasn't been to a show in years, I was puzzled. He's always first or close to it with the scores after a show and always has a lot to say about something he supposedly isn't interested in. People argue just for the joy of arguing. The subject doesn't matter, it ould be anything. Have fun!

donincardona, you got it right. I'm losing interest just reading this crap.
