  1. I live-tweeted the Sioux Falls, SD show and Liahona was kind enough to pass along my tweets to the show thread. When I got back later that night and read the thread it seemed to be mostly positive feedback towards my tweets(both positive and negative) about the shows. Now the Sioux Falls show was only 8 corps so I felt comfortable enough to post comments without killing myself. I was also at the Minneapolis regional, Prelims, Semis, and Finals this year but during those shows if I tweeted it was only something that really struck me, and I did not tweet for every corps. I just wanted to enjoy the shows (especially Finals night). Now if I had a gig like Kevin Gamin, or Mike Boo where I had a laptop to "live-tweet" or even post live reviews I would be all over that. I love talking drum corps and I know how many people follow the show threads for any scrap of updates they can get.

  3. Do we know how many Open class corps are going to be participating? My ticket says the show starts at 9 AM, if it actually starts that early with Open class I'd be stoked. Otherwise I really don't want to get there that early if I have to wait a couple hours before the first corps steps off.
  4. ###### ALEX!!!! Was just catching up on the thread and clicked on your link without paying attention. Effing Poptart Cat.
  5. Out of curiosity and because I haven't really looked at the TOC show format how did they do the fan vote? "Applause-o-meter"? Also what exactly is different on the judging sheets?
  6. Hey Bobby, this was my first show of the year so I do not know if changes were made. Sorry
  7. Hey all, just got back from the show. Liahona you are awesome for re-posting all of my tweets from the show. I was a little worried they were going to waste since I couldn't post to DCP directly. Glad to see that some of you enjoyed my commentary. Just tried to get little snapshots of each corps. Oh and what the heck, I come up with an awesome strategy to post scores quickly for you guys and then DCI posts them online before we heard them at the show??? Next show for me is the Minneapolis regional, don't know if I'll live tweet that one....25 corps is a lot of tweeting.
  8. Well time to grab some food and head over to the show site. It has been steadily sprinkling for the past hour so the ground will be wet tonight, the field is that new style turf so it'll be interesting. Last post from me on here unless the stadium has wifi (which I don't think it does). But I can post to Twitter, and plan to, from my cell so like I said earlier you can follow me @jordanluckyr for updates.
  9. If you are a baseball fan get tickets to see the Twins at home on Sunday. That's what I've got planned, show on Saturday, game on Sunday. Pretty much my definition of a perfect weekend!
  10. Haha I always thought being a storm chaser would be a cool job. But yeah, had a brief rain shower move through and only lasted about 10 minutes max. Hoping that's all we get.
  11. So far the weather is cool and completely cloud covered. Haven't seen any rain out here by the stadium (I work just a few miles away) but it looks like some could be moving in shortly and the Weather Channel is predicting the heavier rain to move in between 7 and 8 as the show is getting under way. This will be my first show of the year and I'm pumped and hoping the rain stays clear. I am planning on tweeting during the show so if you want updates you can follow me @jordanluckyr.
  12. Ustreaming the scores...what amazing technology Kevin if you do this during Finals you are going to be the most popular person ever!
  13. Haha, add me to the "Dan Sailer Hype!" (Marched with him for a season in Groove Pursuit) As for pre-show hype. I would always crank up the iPod with hard rock/ heavy metal and do my best to just get in the zone.
  14. Um... I think it might be better to leave it as Metronome Technician after this happend
  15. I marched Bass drum for 4 out of my 5 years and I always thought to myself that if I were to play any other instrument I would try Mellophone.
  16. Holy Crap Adam! Okay, I saw your post on Facebook and didn't get it's full meaning until I saw this post. Now I'm way excited to check you guys out this summer!
  17. Jeff I think I know what you're talking about. Did it happen when you tried to reply to a longer quoted post? If that's the case, when you select the typing area in the Safari Browser it doesn't automatically take you to the bottom of the post if it fills up the entire area. To get around that you actually have to tap the typing field to select it, then hold down your finger like you were going to copy/paste/select so the little magnifier comes up. Then while still holding your finger down, drag it to the bottom of the screen and it will scroll through the quoted text until you get to the bottom of the quote. Then you can type outside it like you would a normal post. Yeah it's an annoyance when trying to respond to a long quote but that's the only way I've seen on getting around it.
  18. Tried it out on my iPod Touch today and things look very nice. Definitely more simplified but on a mobile device that is to be desired. It also loaded full pages of posts waaaay quicker than the old system.
  19. This is not the status you are looking for....

    1. Jeff Ream

Jedi Mind Tricks do not work on bass drummers

  20. Saw that pic with the sheet music of "East of Eden" on Phantom's FB page. Was thinking about posting it and poof there it is.
