What a great way to get a preview of what those corps have in store for the 2011 season!!!!! Be there, it's always a good time and a great way to catch up with good friends. See you there, Lois
  13. The Reading Buccaneers brass section had there first public appearance this part weekend at a MAPS indoor drumline show at Twin Valley High School. They played a few chorales, tuning and warm up sequences and about 1 1/2 minutes of this year's show, Dance. Not a bad outing! I'm very proud of this year's members and can't wait to see what this year has in store for the Reading Buccaneers. The next public appearance will be in a parade next Saturday, March 12th, in conshohocken, PA. as always, these are my views and in no way reflect the opinions of the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps.
  14. okay.....I'll jump in on this one. I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and have watched the mummers on New Year's day since I can remember. I like them and I too have noticed the parallel. Both have devoted fans and devoted members. Many of the String Band clubs are as tight knit as any family, just like drum corps and I agree the quality of all of the units over the last decade has been amazing. It's good to have competition. It's good for the fans and it's good for the bands/corps. These are my personal views and do not reflect the views or opinions of any organization to which I am affiliated.
  15. What an amazing Weekend!!!! Thank you to all the 2011 members for their hardwork this weekend. Even after a later than usual start on Saturday you made amazing strides on the 2011 program. Keep up the good work!!!!!
  16. REHEARSAL WILL BE DELAYED AT LEAST 1 HOUR!!!!!! TAKE YOUR TIME, ROADS ARE ICY!!!! WE WANT TO SEE YOU THERE BUT SAFETY FIRST!!!!!! THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BUCCANNEER EXEC COMMITTEE
  17. The Tierno Hotel is ready for visitors and can't wait to see all the new faces!!!! There's a lot in store for this year's Balance in Blue. To use the title of a new television show "Live to Dance"!!!!!!
  18. My first exposure to drum corps was the Dream Contest sometime in the late 60's or early 70's. I had no idea where I was going or what I was going to see but when I got there I was hooked for life. My favorite corps were Yankee Rebels and the Caballeros. They are still 2 of my favorite corps! Who would of thought I'd be involved with the Buccaneers????
  19. So did I, back in the '80's. George Parks is still a very big part of the Buccaneer history and tradition. I'm pretty sure he will be there to cheer on the corps at championships. All drum majors have there own style and we've been lucky to have some of the best. David Bruni is part of the Statesmen tradition and style. I like it!!!!! Just 'cause I belong to a different organization doesn't mean I can't appreciate everyone's style........
  20. Bucs - Westin Rec Center, about 6 blocks behind the stadium.
  21. I hope everyone has a fantastic performance!!!!! We'll see some of you in Cicero, NY on the 14th. Safe travels to all.
