  1. The contra from '06 Magic has been with Boston in 07 & 08.
  2. Yep, Boston has a contra vet, center snare vet & a rookie snare from Japan.
  3. Where's all the BAC fans? Must be recovering from the big Orlando weekend.
  4. Well, first of all, it was great to have a major DCI event back in Orlando. It seemed to me that there were very few hiccups in putting on the event, all the corps had decent housing, and even the weather cooperated for the evening. The competition was awesome! But, as those "in-the-know" complained when this show was initially announced, the Citrus Bowl isn't in the greatest neighborhood, and the parking sucks for pretty much everybody. Despite all of that, logistically, it seemed to work. I think the security in and around the stadium was appropriate - they weren't overzealous, they were doing their job - they kept out people who really didn't need to be around the buses and trucks. There were also quite a few corps members that came back into the stadium and congregated under the stands at the north end - that turned out to be the place to meet your friends, family, and former corpsmates. Bottom line, drum corps is back in Florida! I guess that until this event gets relocated to a better venue, we local fans are willing to put up with some of these little issues, rather than driving at least 7 hrs to get to the nearest DCI competition.

  9. Yeah, he did a great job at Boston's home show in Lawrence MA too. Is he corps alumni?
  10. I think this show has an announcer that's popular in the area. When he introduces the corps on the field, he goes, "...[corps name] ... YOU ... may take the field in drum corps competition ..." Everyone in the audience shouts YOU! when he does. Kinda cool!. Anybody know the story behind this guy?
  11. I was at last year's show, working in BAC's kitchen truck. We cooked a roast beef dinner, with the tour chef carving the beef at the end of the food line. It was getting ready to rain, so the Boston's director said he needed to get the corps fed as fast as possible. We had the entire corps thru the food line in less than 20 minutes (still with the beef being carved to order).

  13. FYI - Burly Brawl comes out of the 2nd Matrix movie soundtrack, the part where Neo fights the multiple agent Smiths in the courtyard.
  14. Here's the link to the Field Pass episode explaining the show concept. http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=7...46-7df17c57dbc5 Moondance is "buried" in their ballad, as part of the August Rhapsody arrangement. If you've seen the movie August Rush, its a similar arrangement to the kid's concert in Central Park. If you're looking for a jazzed-up Van Morrison version, you'll miss it.
  15. There we go ... BAC right back in Bloo's rearview mirror!
  16. How many people did it take to keep him off the field?
  17. Central time. I'm hoping rain delay - maybe 1 hr max? It looks like it might be moving thru Racine between 4-7pm CDT.
  18. Yep, they show their "early season understanding" by scoring 14-point captions & 60-70 point totals.
  19. Looks like the week is catching up to BAC. Nice jump by G-men.
  20. Nah! We found those in the baked beans during Sunday lunch.
  21. The first time we used the grill, we (he) cooked about 100lbs of chicken. He worked the grill for about 3-4hrs. Since we had the grill in the parking lot, there was grease all over everyone's car from the smoke. So, he and a few other volunteers washed cars after that. Above & beyond - that's one that will go down in the volunteerism history books!
