  1. Yeah but I asked you why you liked it, not why you prefered SCV that year.
  2. A little seperation from the neo-rebirth in the possible 2007 thread... 1987 Garfield Cadets, Appalachian Spring... Easily one of the most positively talked about and acclaimed shows in DCI's history. Why do you love it so much? Me? Yes this is corny and a little odd. However, watching this show makes me feel good. Have a bad day? Flip it on the DVD player and the mood immediately brightens. I feel as though every drum corps fan, member, judge etc... is required to watch it. It has an unfathomable explanation as to why this activity is good for the human mind and spirit. Hearing the first chord to the dissolving company front, the show is a spectacular celebration of all that is good in the world. At least this is how I feel.
  3. great listening to the difference between quarterfinals APDs and finals APDs there's so much more energy on finals night
  4. Jersey Surf and raiders have established themselves very strongly in the area of the north east, They're very financially stable with incredibly saavy directors and partners. From what I've followed since I live on the East Coast, Jersey Surf probably has more people show up to their wintercamps than a lot of division 1 corps out there. They're building something incredible over there. Disregarding the scoring, and everything, they put out possibly one of the most solid Division II/III seasons.
  5. Don't play. I was rubbing my eyes watching that video after i came off tour. Rubbing my eyes cus, it was that clean. 2002 Cavaliers, no it wasn't the cleanest thing I've seen, the guard had quite a few drops finals night, it wasn't their strongest performance, a few phasing in the feet that became quite noticable.
  6. List some moments that you consider almost surreal because of cleanliness, texture, design etc... anything... 1998 The Cadets - Company front enough said 2002 The Cavaliers - Frameworks, intonation during that ballad 2003 Blue Devils - The opening turn around fast note runs. 2006 Carolina Crown - The chord from the spookies. The Ultima of them all 2005, The Cadets, Dreamscapes in Four Parts with a Door. Oh my god, I've never seen an overal package that clean at finals night
  7. Whoa whoa this isn't physical. Robbing a Bank and Saying stuff are completely different. Statements and actions are quite different from eachother.
  8. You know what I've noticed is that the Cadet's don't really have a championship consistency like other corps. 1985-1st 1986-4th 1987-1st 1989-5th 1990-1st 1991-6th 1998 - 1st 1999 - 4th 2000 - 1st 2004- 4th 2005 -1st 2006 -5th they jump all over the place, no real "gradual" movement up or down. Just spots of years here and there dip and downs. probably a lot of times, the most unpredictable championships, not during the season, but before.
  9. 1993 The Cadets 1996 The Cadets (The promise of living intro, technical ballad) 1998 The Cadets 1999 Blue Devils 1999 The Cadets 2000 Santa Clara Vanguard 2001 The Cadets 2002 Santa Clara Vanguard 2003 Blue Devils 2005 Carolina Crown 2005 Bluecoats 2005 The Cadets 2006 The Cadets 2006 Carolina Crown 2006 Phantom Regiment I gotta hand it to the cadets, they certainly do have a consistency of great ballads.
  10. Organizing Finals, warmup sites etc...unloading and everthing at Madison was hectic enough. This would be pretty hard to pull off at College venues.
  11. 2000 Cadets.... made me love drum corps
  12. You realize that BOA and DCI share a majority of people in power. If not the BOA managers are very aware of the DCI entity. Eventually I believe USSBA will grow beyond both soon, it offers an amazing number of events, great pay for judges, and excellent Venues all over the east coast for an incredibly cheap price, and very very qualified judges.
  13. There are some division 1 corps that should not be in division 1.
  14. This is what I seem to think 2006 - Phantom Regiment 2005 - Phantom Regiment 2004 - Santa Clara Vanguard 2003 - Phantom Regiment and Blue Devils 2002 - The Cadets 2001 - Blue Devils and The Cadets 2000 - The Cadets tagged by The Cavaliers, Santa Clara Vanguard, Boston Crusaders (great year) 1999 - Madison Scouts and Santa Clara Vanguard 1998 - Blue Devils 1997 - The Cadets and Madison Scouts 1996 - Phantom Regiment and Madison Scouts 1994 - Blue Devils 1993 - Phantom Regiment tagged by The Cadets and Star of Indiana 1992 - The Cadets and Madison Scouts 1991 - Phantom Regiment 1990 - The Cadets
  15. Yep, Holding a Euph is a #####, no lie, you hold it with your left hand, your right hand only presses the valves. If you try to hold it with both, you won't get correct pressure on the valves at correct angles. I think during wintercamps in drum corps, or sectionals, the euphonium is possibly the most painful to hold.
  16. Does anyone know the story of how that corps rose from a low 6th place mid season to 2nd and winner of GE? I don't think I've ever seen something like that happen in the post 83 Garfield era
  17. I wouldn't show Cavaliers 2002 because it opens up a little too slow. I would show that video of cool Dci drill on google But if it's a show that people should see in general, possibly it'll have to be 2000 Cadets.
  18. I can't grasp a reason for this but... I think it's very very important for Drum Corps fans to Watch 1987 Garfield Cadets' Appalachian Spring.
  19. You would never think that this piece was out of a video game. It literally sounds like it was recorded from a professional classical opera. No joke.
  20. Does anyone know of any chorales that would make really nice ballads?
  21. Blue Devils - Godfather Statements Carolina Crown - The big hit after the turn arounds. Whoohoo!!! The Cadets - Trumpet lick in White Rabbit, zone tag Phantom Regiment - That entire SHOW!!!! WHOA!!!
