  1. An Amercian Elegy then Nitro by Frank Ticheli and arranged by Jay Bocook.
  2. Well if they were staggering it, that it actually makes it more difficult to line up as an ensemble, though maybe a little easier on the individual players. I still dont understand how people can think 2000 was faked somehow. Pretty much the entire hornline was doing it, so I dont see how the ones that we playing their own horns could have somehow covered for the ones that werent...
  3. I wish blisters were all I had to worry about. I have bunions and they are pretty painful to say the least. Surgery is the only cure in most cases.
  4. My favorite is grilled cheese and tomato soup...even if it wasn't raining :P
  5. Also to add to the past couple post, I can't comprehend one thing. The cadets came into quarters having beaten the blue team the last two times they met (even if it was by a small margin). They then had 3 long rehearsal days because we all know they don't do I&E, compared to I'm assuming 2 blue devil rehearsal days (which probably aren't as long). Yet bd somehow ended cleaner...but who knows, maybe they did out perform the cadets all 3 nights
  6. From what I understand, the judge coordinator on the field did tell George they would redo the hashes and mentioned nothing about a penalty. George did the right thing considering the circumstances. I'm sure there could have been a better way to go about it, but at the time it was a decision that had to be made fast and I doubt he realized the crowd reaction would be so bad. It's a shame that the members had to endure what they did and even though it did effect their performance that night, it made for a more amazing and emotional semis performance.
  7. I heard there is going to be an Orlando show this year.
  8. I wonder... Some people seem to think that the GE score would have been higher without narration. Is it a possiblility that narration actually helped the GE score and without it they wouldn't have done as well?
  9. This is what I was saying earlier. If it was another corps I doubt the crowd would have had the same reaction. Even on semifinals and finals you can hear people in the crowd making rude comments during the show. The hashmarks just added to the controversy even though Hop did the right thing. It is what it is...
  10. Haha yes I remember ;) I loved the show just the way it was, don't get me wrong.
  11. I don't think the use of narration helped though. Do you think they would have done the same if another corps did the same?
  12. I don't want to start another debate on this but I wonder what would have happened on quarters if they didn't use narration. Would the crowd have reacted the same? Would they have had a better quarterfinals show which would have set them up for the next 2 nights? I know for a fact the members were a little down after that whole incident....just putting it out there.
  13. I like the 1st part of SCV but with the solo to the end of Cadets...
  14. Didn't think people were judging the grammer of these post, maybe i'll put more thought into it next time. Honestly, I just did it really fast. Thanks
  15. Like Hop said on espn, people just forget there are kids down there. Were not paid to do what we do, were no gladiator. Sure, say we should toughen up a bit and learn how to take it but to me thats just stupid. We are performers that do the activity because we love it. Why would you boo someone that puts that much time and dedication into something. I wonder if the people booing the cadets even looked at the field to see there were NO hashes or even for a split second thought about the kids safety. I doubt it because their gladiators right, they should be able to handle it, how dare they delay the show, who do they think they are.....I also think coming up to them after a show is a good idea but I doubt many of the boo birds could ever approach a cadet or any corps member and tell them they booed and this is why. If you don't like it fine, I know I'm not going to change anyones mind. But I truely feel sorry for anyone that couldn't find at least one thing they liked about the show and felt like you had to boo.
  16. hi everyone, how long till the scores are announced
  17. Also i think the whole season is going to be shorter by 2 weeks. That might have something to do with it. DCI is losing to much money due to lack of crowd attendance in the beginning of the summer.
  18. martha gram was actually in the pit, so she didnt need a dot book :P sorry the picture didnt load..
  19. martha gram was actually in the pit, so she didnt need a dot book :P
  20. i havent read all of these so im sorry if i repeat some i find it hard to practice because i've been told what to play all summer, i find myself playing licks from the summer but then i realize its not as fun because i dont have my other 21 trumpets there. randomly i'll just start day dreaming about the summer i teach high school marching band and i saw then in uniform the other day and i almost flipped out...the girls hair was coming out of the shako! They sat in uniform...ran...looked around in 2's....ect I had to remind myself that its high school i don't complain as much anymore and it makes me mad when people do, espically when its something they can't do anything about. For example, friend says "why does it have to rain today..." Like i can be like "oh, you didn't want it to rain today...let me get right on that." facebook!!! what happened, its like it turned into myspace typing on my computer was hard at first to, or just being on the computer felt wrong. I always felt like i should be doing something and if i had free time i was wrong.
  21. cadets closer company front at 210...those feet are moving so fast and at a one step interval :)
  22. How is Hop not a good canidate to write the narration? The show was about what they believe and since he is the director of the corps, who would have been a better choice. He has been with the organization longer than anyone and the corps is practically his life. He's the one that give the members the opportunity to learn what it means to be a cadet along with the other staff members. He sits down with the members and talks about life and how to relate what the show was trying to portray to each members life. The idea of choice is so much more than who decided the script...
  23. Ummm, no. Most of the narrators were vets anyway but that really doesn't have anything to do with it. Why would you cut a perfectly good horn player just beause they didnt want to be a narrator? I think this is all getting a bit out of hand and I personaly don't see what the big deal is. Sure they talked about choice and what they believe, but it goes so much farther then what people are making it out to be. Everyone is only thinking how it relates to drum corps and voice and blah blah blah, but not about how it relates to your life which I believe is even more important.
