  1. I think a good example of this would be the end of Dev's 2008 show. Watching the DVD, during the final push they sound EXTREMELY out of balance. Unless they had a rare moment of terrible brass quality, I assume that the balance issues were caused by the pit microphones unevenly picking up certain players. Cue the argument that BD micced their brass and should be disqualified :P Edit: I realize I wasn't terribly specific on the exact part in the show. The part I'm referring to is the tail end where there are members are within the boundaries of the pit, even to the point of standing on the drum cart.
  2. Sent and added to by myself and both my parents
  3. Actually, 3db increase is twice as loud :) 10 dbs would be more than 8 times as loud.
  4. Taters, who went to one the camps had this to say: So supposedly there is a "radical change in their style" that you might be desiring.
  5. Really now? Hmm... I've never had the chance to explore around at a show aha. Very interesting.
  6. It's not necessarily fund-raising, but a few friends and I came up with this on a 14 hour bus ride last summer: So, you know how most corps' (or I can infer by seeing people in halves) members where under armour, or a cheap rip-off there-of, underneath their unis? What if DCI would convince Under Armour to produce a drum corps line of shirts? For instance, Vanguard could have red, with the star on the left chest (pocket area; I don't know the correct term for that area of a shirt). They wear red under armour anyway, so it's not like its a big change. Every corps could choose the colors and logo of their line, and the members could purchase them (possibly at discount) to wear under the unis. In addition, fans would be able to purchase them as another tribute to the corps. And of course, if someone was a real good negotiator, it might be possible to have a small fraction of the proceeds sent back to the corps of which the shirt represents. Just a thought :)
  7. Not sure if it's the right year... can't remember what years these unis are from: Whoops...sorry you said soloist....maybe it can still help?
  8. Noting much to add. Walt was excellent at putting everything in terms that just about anyone could understand. Ouooga there pretty much said it all, though :)
