  1. Nice (BTW, '76 Cavies...one of my favorite corps and probably my favorite opener of that decade).
  2. Little backround story: This year, my marching band is doing a show based on one of my band director's favorite shows: 1992 Santa Clara Vanguard's Fiddler on the Roof. Great corps show and (suprisingly enough) not a bad band show, either. I'm fairly happy with it, though we're hardly the Santa Clara Vanguard of this decade or any. Now, though I'm a "bando" and I've never marched corps, I see myself as a bit of a drum corps purist. That usually means I cringe everytime I hear bands try to do drum corps shows. So, how do you feel about marching band's take drum corps shows and make 'em their own. What's your favorite band corps show? What's your least favorite?
  3. Oh, and least I forget: -Suncoast Sound, 27th Lancers, Star of Indiana, Kingsmen, ect. come back to the World Division ranks. -Washington, D.C. gets a corps
  4. One of my FAVORITE shows from one of my favorite drum corps years. I laugh my butt of everytime I see it.
  5. -Phantom Wins -Santa Clara Vanguard in top three -Madison in top five -Troopers make it to finals -Lots and lots of cake.
  6. Haven't played Jazz since 2002? What about 2003? That was an all Brubeck show, man!
  7. Drum corps and cheap trick? Tell me more, my dear sir.
  8. You kidding? That is my favorite show (next to, oddly enough, '84 Garfield).
  9. Sweet. I did not know that. I loved the visual they did just after the show started. Classic, classic, drum corps and it's one of my favorites.
  10. I can foresee this dying a swift and painful death. Anyway, no, I'm all for the change.
  11. Quick question about the '86 Blue Devils: Why were they still using tri-toms when they had quads on the field?
  12. What will I remember G bugles for? The very first drum corps I ever saw: The 1992 Santa Clara Vanguard. Sitting in my band room as a freshmen and hearing a sound that simply blew me away.
  13. Safe or not...it was a kick butt show. Raw power, great drill, and cool as the other side of the pillow. You know...the usual Blue Devils Stuff. :) Man. You gotta wonder how things would be different if 27 made it to finals that year.
  14. Really? What was so outdated about it? I mean, yeah....they did play Channel One and it was a jazz driven show; but they put so much power into it (yet keeping that signature "smooth" Blue Devils sound).
  15. Another addition: '81 Madison Scouts. "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" (Theme from Ice Castles) and the hat tip by the rifle line. What else do you need?
  16. Please, I'm begging you...come to my home and tell my parents that. Seriously.
  17. I wonder who the other two people are that picked the fourth option on the first question.
  18. True, and I'm not taking ANYTHING away from them. I'm surprised they haven't won more. This is a corps that just seems to bring "it" constantly.
  19. A buddy of mine and I were talking about this the other day. This guy is, without a doubt, good enough to join the ranks of a World Class Division corps (and this comment came from two men who actually MARCHED world class division corps). He wants to join, but those cost...man, that's insane.
  20. Man...those Madison Scouts sure love their power drum corps. :) It's strange they only have 2 titles.
