  1. You guys are acting like this is the first time something like this has happened. Chill the #### out. Have you ever considered that people can learn from their mistakes? Besides, like actucker said, he probably won't even be working with the members all that much. And if he does, do you really think he'd be stupid enough to make the same mistake twice? Let's be realistic about this.
  2. Don't let the chance of an "off year" deter you from trying out there. You're still gonna have a fantastic summer even if the corps doesn't necessarily place well. Hell, the only two years that I marched are both considered off years for that corps. You'll remember the experience more than the placement. Trust me.
  3. What's this? A thread about how a corps doesn't move and play as much as other corps? ...and it uses the Cadets as a counter-example? Color me shocked.
  4. I'd like to see more music that was originally written for brass ensembles. I know the Cavaliers did some in 2010 with "Harrison's Dream." I think brass band music in general would translate really well to the field. The elements are already there - loud, awesome brass music and percussion. Examples - (first piece is "Harrison's Dream," btw). There's a lot of good brass quintet and brass ensemble music in general, too. Stuff by Malcolm Arnold, Eric Ewazen, Anthony Plog, Victor Ewald, and others.
  5. Don't know who downvoted you, but they need to find a sense of humor.
  6. Capriccio Espagnol - Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Please?
  7. If you have a Fan Network account, go watch Phantom's 1985 show. ...but just so ya know, I agree with you too - I think Symphonie Fantastique needs to happen on the field again.
  8. Bump. Anybody got any suggestions for 2012? Personally, I'd like to see some of this:
  9. Um, I thought this was supposed to be free for everybody. I'm on the Fan Network, logged into my account (no subscription), and it's telling me that the broadcast is for "authorized accounts" only. None too pleased right now.

  11. You already made a post almost exactly like this in another thread. Stop announcing that you're leaving and just LEAVE already.
  12. (Multi-post, I don't give a ####) Incorrect. This is drum corps. It's just not drum corps how YOU remember it. Stuff changes. Get with it, or get out.
  13. First of all, way to be rude and leave in the middle of a show. I'm sure the people sitting around you were simply delighted by your distraction. Secondly, see ya. Don't let the door hit ya.
  14. Drum corps has been weird ever since it stopped being actual drum corps back in the Cretaceous period.
  15. Yes they should. Just because you like the Cadets more doesn't mean that they have the better-executed show. Also, scores do not equal Blue Stars. Just sayin'.
