  1. hey guys, just wanted to own up to some mis information I posted. Turns out Pat is no longer with Regiment and his contract was not renewed. Thanks to those who gave me the correct info, sorry if i added to the confusion. :sshh: :( :sshh:
  2. Eh, no they aren't. DCI purchased the airspace, produced the show, and sent the tape to ESPN. That's about as close to being in bed as they got.
  3. I am seeing quite a few negative comments from DCA folks tonight. If you guys hate the show so much, go out and produce your own and try selling it to ESPN. Or better yet, stop watching it all together. Geez! For the rest of you whinning... you moaned and whined for years that DCI should be on mainstream media like ESPN, and now you are ripping DCI a new one becuase the braodcast isnt up to your standards. Get a grip people. be happy with what you have. This years product is far superior to last years show. Tom did a great job editing, and yes, the commentary is a bit stale, but hey, it works. If you want to see the fuill shows, buy the DVD
  4. I think the abve mentioned helped to invent the wheel, which was then fitted to the first bus, back in the stone ages. I think I toured on one of those buses. Seriously, three legends, all missed...
  5. Ahhhhhh, reminds me of Paris in the fall, the scent of love in the air, the.... wait, I've never been to Paris. But I have been stuck on a bus for two months with my ex-girlfriend. If that ain't romance... lol. Thanks Mike!!!
  6. Yup! In a nutshell, this is what I think about whan I think Madison Scouts. Always has been and always will. There is something special about seeing this corps play this song... truely amazing.
  7. For the past few weeks, the debate has raged about what the Madison Scouts "style" is. What should they play? What genre of music? This years style vs. last years style, etc. There is only one Madison Scouts, and if you have never had the chance to see the real Scouts, .This is who Madison will always be to me, no matter what the play, no matter what they do. May you never walk alone. Thanks for being such a wonderful part of my drum corps experience Madison!
  8. For most corps this might signal the kiss of death, but the one thing the Scouts have going for them is an outstanding Alumni base. I think becuase of this, the corps will survive, and do very well.
  9. That's how anything in life works. If you don't agree with the direction of an organization, business, or anything else that you make contributions to, you stop giving money. That's his perogotive, his money, he can do with it as he pleases. For example, if my church went in a direction that I disagreed with or made a decision that I strongly disagreed with, I would stop donating money, plain and simple. I work hard for what I earn, and I am going to make sure that the organizations that recieve my money also hold the same standards that I believe to be true. There are many places that would be happy to have my money, his money, or anyone that is willing to make a donation. But you have to earn it. I don't have a money tree in my backyard.
  10. Whadda ya gonna do... they made him an offer he couldn't refuse... :lolhit:
  11. The gentlemans name is Pete Stacker. He is a well known voice over artist in the Chicago area. He does work for movies, television and radio. http://www.petestacker.com Click on the AVO link... you will be surprised at how many different "voices" he has! I think I might have worked with Pete indirectly on a couple of occasions (through previous employers that used his voiceover work)... if he is who I think he is, Pete is one of the funniest and nicest men you will ever meet!
  12. Mike - I have the 1982 records here at home, and I swear the announcer has a very thick French accent? Can't be Brandt... can it?
  13. Here's my thought... What happens in the family, stays in the family. This is a FAMILY matter for the Scouts, I think we should leave it that way and offer them our support.
  14. I never said anyone's intent was to screw the fans over. I believe every show design has the intention of doing something great for the audience and kids. But I have noticed one trend since the mid 90's.... show designs have become more artistic, sometimes darker, and in some cases edgier. Personally, I don't care for those shows one bit. Just not my cup of tea. For example, BD 94 and 95 were not my favorite shows. Not into the whole evil drum corps thing. I have probably listend to them only a hand full of times and just have no desire to hear them again. But for others, they do the trick. And that gets back to my original argument, for some it's good, for others it's not.
  15. I think this was expected from the moment Rick came on board. I think Pat brought him in to set up a smooth transition. Smart move, and becuase of it, I don't think there will be any transition problems at all. Peronally, I would have worded the press release a touch different, but all is good.
  16. That in and of itself should be telling, don't ya think?
  17. Did you know that if you play the Cavaliers 2003 show backwards, it sounds exactly the same is it would played forward! :o
  18. John - not disagreeing with you at all here! And for the record, I love the Cavaliers 2000-2006 shows! ;)
