Going out on a limb. 2010 had about 1/2 the show in. Minnesota Brass performed around 2pm that day. Then there was rain and tornado's that forced many people into the rest rooms for safety and around 10pm the rest of the show was cancelled.

This marked the 5th straight year my daughter and I marched Brass. As always for me the best day of the season is the last day. The emotions of never being with this group of your friends again, the last performance together, last run through as a group. Everything about the last day is what makes it so wonderful. But to win a championship with my daughter is something that I will always remember. We have a special bond of music and drum corps, others in my family do not understand. My son and I have hockey and auto racing, the wife and I go to movies and casinos. But to have a passion and to share it makes everything we do worth the long days, rain, practice, heat, did I say rain. I was not just with my daughter. I had my other kids, my guard daughters and sons, my trumpet section family and 120 other close friends, to me they are all family and that is what made this year so very special for me. Buy the way, our first outdoor rehearsal of the season was in sleet and rain, so it was fitting that we ended the last day of our season in the rain.

OK, I'll play. This is based on performance order giving room for others to move into slots. No I did not say slotting, we know that does not happen. Placement - Corps - (Performance Order) 1. Blue Devils (24th last on) 2. Cavaliers (22nd on) 3. Cadets (19th on) 4. Blue Coats (23rd on) 5. Crown (20th on) 6. Phantom (21st on) 7. SCV (16th on) 8. Blue Stars (17th on) 9. Madison (15th on) 10. Boston (18th on) 11. Blue Knights (13th on) 12. Glassmen (14th on) Personally I think the Cavie's are the best corps at this point in the season but as the scores are getting closer they may not do it Saturday. They got a bad draw for this one, it will be real close.

To expand on what Ron said. Today’s Minnesota Brass Senior Drum and Bugle Corps has operated under a number of names through the years. The group first performed in 1947. In 1948 members moved the corps to the Laidlaw American Legion Post in Minneapolis, starting an association with the Legion that would last a quarter century. The group was called the Laidlaw Drum & Bugles Corps until 1955. In 1956, the corps decided to focus on a Spanish musical style and visual theme, choosing the name Laidlaw Toreadors. This corps became very successful, winning many state and regional Legion championships. The Toreadors name lasted until 1964. For one season, 1965, the Minneapolis’ Grain Belt Brewery sponsored the corps, renamed the Grain Belt Diamonds. The “diamond-clear, smoother beer” had a diamond-shaped logo. Can you guess what shapes were used in their drill? The Diamonds were dressed in tuxedos; audiences said they looked like funeral directors.

Hormel Girls From DrumCorpsWiki The Hormel Girls (also known as the AL Spam Post #570 or Spam Post) were an all-women senior drum corps based in Austin, Minnesota made up of American World War II women veterans. The corps was founded in 1947 under the auspices of the Hormel Meat Packing Co. of Austin, Minnesota. Initially a competitive senior corps, they were the first all-woman corps to take part in American Legion competition. By 1950, the Hormel Girls had evolved into an orchestra and with their own radio program and television show. They traveled the country in their own fleet of 35 white Chevys. The group lasted until 1953.
