  1. Sure, I know somebody threw the idea out there to factor in regionals, but I don't think the current approach to DCI Championships is in jeopardy. I think DCI championships will always be based on the finals show. For the TOC, though, since they bill every TOC show as a TOC show, since there is nothing inherently special about Buffalo and since we already reward the best corps at the end on finals night, it doesn't make any since to me to count the last show as 6 times more important than any of the others. Instead of the TOC Cup maybe they should award a Buffalo Chip. .
  2. . What is this '1 point disadvantage' you speak of?
  3. . I love you, you love me Mass times c squared's energy .
  4. Wow .8 below Cadets when the other judge had them up .3
  5. . SCV almost swept visual everything.
  6. . Will it identify fire hydrants if I am a dog?
  7. . Wow, if that is the case I really don't like that. It renders each ofthe other TOC shows almost meaningless scorewise and gives a ridiculously exalted significance to one show for no good reason. Not only that, but it increases the chances of just having the same winner as finals, making it even less meaningfully distinctive. I had thought one good thing about the TOC is it would reward the corps that did the best over the entire season. So much for that. .
  8. From the article, "Determining each corps’ average score in the first six TOC events, then adding each corps’ respective average to its score from Buffalo, N.Y. yields the final cumulative score." Does that mean the Buffalo show counts 6 times as much as each of the other shows, or did they just word this badly? .
  9. . DCI should allow a quick football game to be played during intermission, while everyone goes to the concession stand, eats, talks and generally ignores what is happening on the field.
  10. My family? Well I guess it would either be true or not. If true it would not be the fault of the observer or anyone who merely asked about it. If false, I would see it as a good opportunity to provide factual information that logically refutes the notion. In any case, if you have a problem with people asserting things they don't "know" why would you turn around and say you "know" what someone else's motivation is for saying something when you are not in their head?
  11. Where specifically among the things you bolded did she do that? The first things she said were questions, the others were subjective opinions based on her observations and consistent with observations many others have expressed, and which she has a right to express. Please don't try bully people off the forums just be because they say things you don't like. I am interested in hearing everyone's opinion.
  12. . If people disagree with the OP please give it a red minus because, according to the OP, what is the point if it isn't judged?
  13. . It certainly would be, if that is what anyone is doing. But it appears my point was missed entirely. I am asking why, as we appear to be in agreement that actually booing the actual performers would indeed be a horrible thing to do, you would assume that to be the only possible explanation of the behavior of a person you don't even know. Am I not correct that you have persisted in that assumption?
  14. . Just a thought here. Where the black square thing is, they could instead have a considerably larger backdrop of some foreboding abode like a gothic mansion or castle, with a window that is kind of frosty translucent material. Then at the appropriate time we could see the silhouette of the evil queen, played by an appropriately attired individual, appear in the window and move in a way to convey her conjuring and whatnot. Then later, the heroine could run behind the structure, we see both their silhouettes fight with each other, the queen defeated and the heroine return to the field triumphant. Anyway, just a thought.
  15. . Why would you assume such a horrible thing about someone?
  16. . Sorry, but I find that statement offensive to the victims of atrocities based on actual hate.
  17. . Perhaps BD could sell harmlessly soft things to throw during the show.
  18. . Actually the optimist in me just sees it as saying he/she is telling CC members they deserved to win. But if you insist on looking at it that way... ...wouldn't it then be wrong to cheer when BD wins, because you are telling all the other corps they don't deserve to win? The only difference I see in is in one case your opinion agrees with the judges and in the other it does not. .
  19. Visually all that bright white totally distracts me from registering what the corps is doing, but perhaps the judges are better at honing in on what they are looking for.
  20. We used to call it Johnny Walker's Red and Pink Floyd Stadium.
