  1. Exactly! The only real ratio that can be used is the death rate vs population. Using that, the China numbers don't look so bad. If one doesn't want to use the entire population as the denominator and it is claimed that 60% of the population will contract Covid-19, then use 60% of a country's population as the denominator and establish the % death with that. You will see that the % is pretty small, but then that doesn't sell news.
  2. Its just math, no citation necessary. The number of fatalities is known, but the number infected is estimated. Therefore for the same number of deaths, increasing the number of infected (the denominator) to another large estimated number, reduces the percentage. Since the number of infected is just pure speculation, but the number of dead is not, any percentage is pure speculation, including the "so-called" present % cited by many. The denominator or number of infected has been underestimated by all countries, since nobody (country) has tested all of their citizens.
  3. You can't say that if you haven't tasted Iberican ham.🀨
  4. Then tell him that he doesn't have to take a shower and save the planet from climate change!πŸ˜‰
  5. The solution is obvious - protect the elderly (60+) by banning them from events and allow the younger to get the virus, since they will survive. πŸ€§πŸ€’
  6. No comparison. Iberican is prized by gourmets. But why were you surprised at how good the ham imported from Poland was? There is more than Virginian ham you know!πŸ˜‰
  7. Its not early morning for me - I am in Spain now - no snow shoveling for me in winter! The lightly smoked Iberican ham is great here, also.πŸ˜€
  8. How much does the brisket weigh without the mesquite and apple wood?πŸ™„
  9. I don't know this for a fact, but the chance of dying from this virus is probably lower than that of dying while driving your car to stock up on supplies in case you have to "self-quarantine"!
  10. Now 60+ is old? I must be dead at 72! πŸ™„
  11. When we do our annual tour, we take in about 7-8 shows in 14 days, travelling about 2400 miles. All shows are outdoors. We refuse to attend indoor shows. The tickets have all been paid for in advance. In the last 10 years we have been rained out maybe 4 times. That's about 5% of the shows. Our tours also include gourmet dining and the other costs of being on the road for 14 days. I am not going to pay for insurance for a 5% chance of a cancelled show. One note. I consider Lisle a gourmet dining destination because Chicago, with its wonderful dining scene, is close enough for us.πŸ˜‰
  12. Been to many of those and still prefer them to indoors anywhere, sound wise.
  13. Actually, in spite of that "rigged"sound, it sounds better high up in the stands, if the stands are high enough. No sound out of only the right hand speaker, if you are right in front of it etc. Even if the corps sound system is rigged for Lucas Oil, it still isn't very good indoors and actually sounds better outdoors, from high up perspective. Distorted sound indoors, sounds worse than distorted sound outdoors.πŸ™„
  14. Which is why sitting high up at the Allentown venue is the best place for today's DC. In spite of the "supposed" design of the shows for indoor and video consumption, the sound indoors is still poor from my "audiophile" point of view, even the videos. These days, high up outdoors is the place to see and listen to DC.
  15. Or either to mean both, as in "either sides" to mean "both sides"
  16. Unless, of course, the natural acoustic sound is indoors and manages to overpower the indoor acoustics themselves. Drums are especially bad, since their sound is omni-directional. Bugles and drums are for outdoors.
  17. That's not just Canadian spelling, but the world English spelling - only Americans spell center, honor, color etc. that way. Also, the USA is about the only country left in the world not using the SI (metric) system. Just joshing. πŸ˜‰
  18. Gosh, stranded in Canada - what could be worse, eh? Well arrested at the border by US guy and sent to one of those detention centres we hear about could be worse. US guy probably thought that you were smuggling marijuana into the USA! Its what we Canadians go through every time we go to the USA. πŸ˜‰
  19. As I said before, if the 840 is considered an interstate, then you have to say that there are 5 interstates, not four, "intersecting" at Nashville, since there is also the I-440. Still, I agree that Nashville is wonderfull spot for finals.
  20. Agree on Albuquerque NM and Saskatchewan, but would make that Regina instead. Better stadium.
  21. Using that logic, Nashville has 5 Major Interstate intersections! There is also I-440. Agree on Nashville for a Regional.
  22. Yet. MikeRapp has not chimed in since my original query.
  23. Well you should know that the I-65 is the route to Indianapolis from Chicago, then to Nashville Or, I-57 to I-24 to Nashville. My query about the 4th Interstate was more rhetorical, since I do know that there is no 4th Interstate intersecting at Nashville and I live in Montreal.
  24. I-840 is not an interstate, but a ring highway and therefore does not "intersect". Actually the I-24 is really the odd one. Even number Interstates (I-40 and I-24) run East-West and don't usually intersect Normally only 2 Interstates can intersect at one place (city). Having four is virtually impossible. At any rate, notwithstanding the lack of indoor facilities for DC, I really think that Nashville is a great spot for DCI finals. And whats a little warm weather?
