  1. Yes the 65, which I meant when I said 64, my bad. So what is the 4th? There are the 65, 24 and 40, all of which I have driven.
  2. Agree on all of the above, except that I can't seem to identify the four intersecting interstates. There are the 64, 24 and 40, but what is the 4th?
  3. And every one of those cities has world class gourmet dining - yes even Minneapolis. 😉
  4. So there is no personal accountability here? "Check the field"!- wearing footwear renders that moot. Why not check the road to the practice field too, since there is a chance that the member might go shoe-less to the field? Lawsuit because a member didn't protect him/herself from the sun? Please.
  5. And have a minimum SPF sun lotion and hats, I suppose, when the sun is strong!? Let them make their own mistakes and learn.🤨
  6. Even St. Elmos doesn't interest me - a nice looking steak house, offering large steaks with large prices - nothing original or "gourmet" about it. San Antonio at least offers some worthy goumet restaurants such as Biga on the Banks and Fig Tree.
  7. Rochester dining scene, while not in the Michelin star quality, does have some interesting fine dining. Williamsport does have one restaurant which offers fine formal dining -Peter Herdic Restaurant on W 4th St. I still prefer Rochester to Williamsport, since the dining is better and it is close to the Finger Lakes district and its good Inns and B&Bs.
  8. Agreed. Our other hobby or interest is gourmet dining and we always manage to find fine dining establishments in most DCI and DCA cites. Another reason for avoiding Indianapolis is its lack of fine dining establishments. The Chicago area, now that's different! And the LA region, including Pasedena . Of course, during our Southwest tour on the way to Allentown, we always find time to dine in Charleston SC!
  9. I'll bite, but only outdoor stadia: Albuquerque NM Pasadena CA Phoenix AZ Tucson AZ It is a fantasy after all and I don't think that these venues run much of a rain-out risk. I don't think that finals will ever be outdoors, therefore I shall never attend any it seems. Good on DCI East Allentown for my finals.
  10. Same here. Got the tickets I wanted. Allentown is our "Finals" and follows (ends) our yearly south-eastern tour, which usually starts in Little Rock. Tour does not include San Antonio nor Atlanta, since we will not attend indoor contests.😉
  11. Well you did say that you could "live with the bouncing sound" of my prattle. Now I am amused. But enough about your sensitivities and back to the subject of indoor and outdoor DC and good sound.
  12. Perhaps not you, but you have indicated that your priority is comfort, not good sound. Might as well just go to a cinema broadcasting the competition - it has comfortable seats, is air-conditioned and has "bad sound". With respect, Bob P.
  13. I value good sound so much that I can live with hot sticky weather and less than comfortable seats - its only for some 4 hrs, after all! Me thinks that some Drum Corps fans have gone "soft".
  14. Yes, I received the survey. It is genuine. Questions were more about attendance at either or both Friday and Saturday events. Also, asked for comments and I commented that I would rather a "big" all day Saturday competition than the two night formula. As for mosquitoes scares and event cancellations - give me a break!
  15. Esoteric is french? Je ne pense pas! Avant-garde is though. But then, french is passé, n'est-ce pas? Except for gourmet cuisine, bien sûr.🤨
  16. Yes they do a "homecoming" show in Sherbrooke. Can't wait to see them.
  17. Well I am an engineer by profession and I love numbers, but in this case I will use a few words to rate top three: Bloo - feel good on Emotional, Intellectual and Aesthetic Its an all around "feel good" show. BD - feel good on I and A. SCV - feel good about I.
  18. They (27th) must have been 250 MM! Great presentation, but what I remember was PR playing "Claire de Lune" with the full moon as a background.😉
  19. But surely you couldn't really judge the GE (guard) from that video! Yet you said that BD "knock it out of the park". The most one could see are rifle tosses, which were quite good, BTW.
  20. I have no problem with the application of a bass note one octave lower than the bass note of the bass line, as long as it is not very noticeable, just sort of felt. The problem is that the speakers themselves are not capable of reproducing those notes loudly and therefore start to distort (mostly doubling) and really muddy the sound and then that becomes very disturbing. Use of the synth as a separate instrument and not re-inforcement is a problem for me.
  21. I don't see how any body can make any judgment about the quality of horn lines or GE etc. from those "awful" recordings. Comparing to another recording medium (Flo) isn't much better. Live comparisons are the only way to judge.
  22. I haven't heard the "new" ending, but I can say that the so-called powerful ending (which I have heard live 7 times) was not an ending since it lacked a true climax and resolution.
  23. Where and when you have music, you have math. Even more so in a competition.😃
  24. Yes. AB 1st with C 2nd, AC 1st with B 2nd, BC with A 2nd, then A 1st with BC 2nd, B with AC 2nd, C with AB and of course ABC tied! 7 in all.😉
