  1. I just saw C.V. last weekend and they were anything BUT boring! Clean show, beautiful colorguard and the best drumline they have had in a long time. Hornline has the chops to "rattle the stands" when required!
  2. I was there. But I was kinda busy with Cincinnati Tradition. It was good to see Bob Sullivan there! Had a nice visit with him in the stands. Cozy Baker would be proud of C.T.! Great audience, too!
  3. Hey Gary, Cincinnati Tradition has their seeding score, but their not "done" yet. LOL!
  4. At the stroke of midnight this Friday, Cincinnati Tradition boards a bus and heads south to Atlanta! There are many "firsts" for this young DCA corps, as they continue their journey to excellence. They are three years into a "re-branding" project that has the corps sporting new uniforms and a new attitude. Success can be measured in many ways. It's been a pleasure to watch Cincinnati Tradition grow and gain valuable experience along the way. Improvements such as a new equipment trailer might seem like "small potatos" to most folks, but it's a clear indicator that this corps is growing! The members are excited to travel south, for the first time in the corps history. Input from the judges at the Naperville show has been utiliized to it's fullest extent. The staff made many changes to the corps 2012 show, accordingly. C.T. wishes to thank Corvets and Vic Kulinski for inviting us to Atlanta! See ya' on the "50"!
  5. I'll have an Oreo for my ONE post here.
  6. Well.... Cincinnati ditched thier grey uniforms for teal blue ones! Breakfast at your hotel, Dick? (Friday morning)
  7. My condolences to the Westshoremen and to his family.
  8. 1972 Rochester Crusaders at Horlick stadium, in Racine. 1979 Reading Bucaneers. 1971 Skyliners.
  9. Naperville on the 4th, Racine on the 5th. Same line up, both shows.
  10. I'll play along, too! 1983 Ohio Brass Factory!
  11. I personally find the whole judging thing to be far too technical for me to figure out. I usually end up with a headache. I don't like headaches. So I leave the judging to the judges and the performing to the performers.
  12. There was in fact a time when I was going to bed, when most folks were getting up. I was at my best around midnight in those days. Now I am at my best around (ironically) 5:16 a.m. and it's downhill for the rest of the day.
  13. Well Kemo, Last season the open class champion was Minn Brass, Class A champ was Govies, Mini Corps champ: Star United. Kilties? In the top ten. ALL midwest corps. I will NEVER criticize a responsible business model. I will emulate it! Ed, There is a corps in Cincinnati over populated with young folks. They have the same issues with work demands, that us older folks have. It is ironic that Cincinnati Tradition's "long distance" commutes this season will include Naperville/Racine and Atlanta, 6 1/2 hours and 8 hours, respectively. 9 hours to Anapolis. They have budgeted for those trips, responsibly. Travel should NOT be one mile farther that your annual operating budget will allow. DCI is NOT a factor in the success or failure of a midwest DCA corps. A corps succeeds when it establishes itself in it's own community FIRST. A corps fails when it over extends it's travel budget. Yes! How about those Cabs?
  14. I saw Hurcs show. The colorguard is fantastic. Best I've seen, so far.
  15. And for me as well, Fran? Tell him he needs to get well soon! Thanx!
  16. seems to me this guy was a blonde for a brief time.
  17. Adrenaline rush? I don't do that anymore, but I remember HOW.
  18. That rubber chicken gets a trip to Hawaii.... jeez! I only got to see Hawaii once, on my way to Vietnam.
  19. The first time I saw #4 was in 1980 at DCA finals. "I got a blue feather"!!!
  20. Well.... I was... lets see... 17 years old and ONE year into my drumcorps career in 1969.
  21. Larry is being "assimilated". He isn't aware of it, but soon, I hope to have him in a Bengals shirt. He already eats Skyline Chili, regularly! Cincinnati is his new home away from home. Yes, he is working wonders here with Cincinnati Tradition. There is nobody better at tuning, balancing and blending a hornline, in the entire country.
