  1. And just because it makes me LOL.. any body want to add some TXT to this one at all?? And just in case you are wondering... this is (slightly crazy) Australian band The Grates playing at the Big Day Out (Biggest touring festival in Australia)... she loves her costumes!
  2. I worked all summer on one of the food trucks last year and the number 1 favorite donated foods that the kids loved always seamed to be COLD watermellon.. speciall after a long hot practice!!! They also love icecream but it doesnt always sit too well in their tummys.. baked goods are good too but remember, you have to make enough for at least 2 pieces each and your bound to have 150-200 people touring at any 1 time depending on the size of the corps... My vote.. watermelon!
  3. Troopers suck!! BO! As if anybody would fly all the way from Australia to see them play in Indy!!... *cough*
  4. I agree I FINALLY got my "pre ordered" DVDs and I get where you are coming from.. there are some pretty interesting shots in there but they just arnt what you see from the stands or how the shows were desighned to be viewed... I toured as a voulenteer this year and only missed 1 performance of the corps I was with.. I saw the show from field leval at the bottom of the stands, box leval, left in the stands, right in the stands.. Yet in the DVDs I still ended up seeing parts I remember being diffrent from the stands because of the camera views. Its a shame because alot of the kids that march have no idea what they looked like from the stands.. even with the DVDs..
  5. Dont they normaly use the best parts of a movie in the trailer?
  6. YAY been charged, that means DVDs soon!! BOOOO exchange rate! *dies*
  7. Woohoo! I cant wait! I just have to wait an extra 2 weeks for postage once they start shipping... *sigh* Cant wait!!
  8. I run a charity event down here... but it runs the same as a fund raiser pretty much... We put on a music festival at the end of every year and in exchange for entry we get people to donate toys and food stuffs, the goods donated go to toward people in the local community that can’t afford anything special at that time of year... In return for donations, we hand out numbered tickets and at the end of the night there are a few give always of items donated by local businesses... iPods, phones, gift cards etc But turning that into a fund raising idea, it works really well.. You will find that if you approach local businesses, they can’t always help with money but they can normally donate services and goods that you can use in raffles or as donation incentives.
  9. Speaking of iTunes.. Are they doing to be doing a digital release of the CDs? Makes it WAY more accessable for so many people.
  10. You win Boo... I ordered my DVDs a couple of nights ago. I've been trying to tell myself I dont need to go back to the states next year.. But I know as soon as I watch Troopers show again I'll end up with tears in my eyes and reach for the phone to call my travel agent. *checks out finals tickets*
  11. looking at this question.. the question I asked in reply was "whats the diffrence between Drum Corps and Marching band" I live in a country that doesnt have ether.. and am constantly having to explain what on earth I was doing this winter (AKA this summer).. .. most people here know what marching band is from american movies.. so they assume when I start talking about Drum Corps I mean Marching band. so they always asking "yeah, whats the diffrence"
  12. Drum Corps is the only reason I have face book! So I can keep in contact with all my new DC friends over there in the states.
  13. Oh touche Mr Boo... Well they do serve free alcohol so maybe that will ease my pain lol *waits for DVDs*
  14. I'm ordering the DVDs on pay day... but far out!! For both DVDs and postage, its costing me MORE then the return flights I just booked from Brisbane to Sydney.... not cool.
  15. The pink hoodie shirt that Troopers have.. Sooooo cute AND I can wear it to work!! http://www.troopersdrumcorps.org/store/ind...mp;productId=62
  16. Yeah.. there are a couple... Amazing movie by the way... I dont come from a Drum Corps back ground and still loved every single second of it!
  17. 1st off I'm sorry is anybody has posted this already, but I have jetlag like crazy so there is no way I'm going to read every single post in this thread... OK.. easy.. just call the corps.. talk to any1 in admin and ask what company they go thru for royalties.. even if the song hasnt been recorded it should still be regestered. .because (as far as I have been told its the same there as australia) every time they perform that piece.. if they are regestered.. they recieve royalties... so all you have to do is contact the company they are with (I believe there is more then 1 company over there that does this) and they will let u know where to go from there.. EDIT: yay for google.. try these people http://www.ascap.com
