  1. Kevin did another amazing job. Also a shout out to those posting photos. In the past I've had this task and you would be amazed how much of the show you miss just collecting, sorting and posting three photo's. Without a video feed these brought Kevin's commentary to life!
  2. At least someone is at home base. You need to set a police car on fire. I know it sounds violent but it's kind of a rule these days with championships.
  3. At least that sword killed the DM. This years sword was a fake out. She got up and took a bow. :)
  4. I agree. I really enjoy seeing and hearing it. When a show is built around "pit" brass, not so much.
  5. You're not fooling anyone Gadget. A couple of fresh AA batteries and a download scarywindensembleknowledge.com and you're good to go. :)
  6. Hotel? I thought you just crated him up and stored him in the press box until needed? What's the freight and storage charge to Annapolis?
  7. Thought it was pretty good. High cam was blurry. I agree about the static screen. Why not keep it live as the corps leave and come on the field? Gives you more sense of it being live. Good value at $20.
  8. Kevin, great commentary tonight! OMG, Brass has a fantastic show! This may be their year!
  9. I asked one of the members about the pin stripes and the lack of being able to see them and got a great answer. "The crowd may not be able to see them but we know they're there".
  10. The Blue Devils blend many different visual eliments in their show. Marching slow-fast, jazz running, dancing in groups and individually. The uniform, the stripes, the panels reflect well on the variety of their visual offerings. If they focused on one aspect such as a high velocity drill then it may not be condusive to that look. Personnally I think the panel has worked very well for them by adding visual interest with flowing material and flashes of color and/or pattern . Will it be appropriate next year? Who knows what next year has to offer which is what I love about them. What's your feeling on capes and combat boots?
  11. The names were based on the circuits, at least A and B. C corps has no worries on the name as they are always the fan favorite because not only are they cute they are GOOD! BDB naming has been a struggle through the years. It's not easy to change a name of a group that has at least a 35 year history. As of tonight they are the first Blue Devil drum corps to every threepeat!
  12. Apparently DCI thinks they are all winners in their book: Open Class 1 7th Regiment 95.000 1 Blue Devils B 95.000 1 Blue Saints 95.000 1 Colt Cadets 95.000 1 Forte 95.000 1 Genesis 95.000 1 Jubal 95.000 1 Legends 95.000 1 Les Stentors 95.000 1 Music City 95.000 1 Oregon Crusaders 95.000 1 Racine Scouts 95.000 1 Raiders 95.000 1 Revolution 95.000 1 Spartans 95.000 1 Spirit of Newark/NJ 95.000 1 The Yokohama Scouts 95.000 1 Vanguard Cadets 95.000 Read more: http://www.dci.org/scores/#ixzz1UbDHkiHG
  13. Big prop's to Open Class Director of the year Mike Quillen and his Crusaders. I march with Mike back in the day and its no surprise to me what he has done with this corps. I was not there to see them tonight but I'm sure they were fantastic. Can't wait to see them on Thursday. Also congrats to our Nor Cal friends SCVC and of course my Blue Devils B!!!
  14. Galaxy 14 8105 E 96TH ST INDIANAPOLIS, IN I figure the sound will be better in the theater than in the stadium. :)
  15. I thought everyone was boycotting these shows?
  16. There are those that just make ridiculous and rude comments. This sparks defenders and imitators. Ultimately you get a en-proportional amount of comment on one corps. If you kept it civil you would have some healthy debate which is what this site should be about. It always amuses me that corps that are not competing for the top spot do not receive your wonderful insight when they could really use it. As for those making grand statements of absolutely who won or who didn't. How you can watch a show on your lap top or even live and pretend to "know" the outcome when it was individually judged in something like 16 sub captions? Fan network is pretty good but I have not seen the field percussion judge cam yet. We can all disagree with a single judge or two but when you put them all together you get a reasonable outcome. The combined score may not be what you want it to be but you can be assured that it is at least close to accurate. Your comments should be within that framework instead of some of the outrageous things posted by some . I am very happy at BD's victory but am fully aware that this could have easily gone another way. What Devils do best is to attempt to be the best in all sub-captions. Some call it playing to the sheets....um yeah. Before you say its not entertaining, that is a sub caption too and it is not ignored. A refined combination of all aspects is a beautiful thing to behold and that is not exclusive to BD.
  17. Nice job Devils!!!! I did not see the show but enjoyed the comments by the adults on the thread. I saw all the corps early season and really saw the potential of Cadets and BD and am not surprised by the run that is happening. One of the most enjoyable top 12 in a long time. I'll be in Indi and no matter that outcome it is going to be one hell of a show!!
  18. So I think the top four as beat each other at least once this year, correct? I know BD members felt they had a good show tonight. Coming on strong from an early performance slot. So what did the (should not be part of the score) fan voting results look like?
  19. It was the sixties man, they did even know what a bar code was. Peace-Love-Far out.
  20. New high brass ear candy poping into the show from some sound clips I heard. Wish I was there.
  21. Do it up Dev's!!! TOC show so no predictions on this modified format. Would enjoy seeing the show if I could.
