  1. According to their Facebook page on Sunday, they do still have a bari hole.
  2. Just looked at my shirt, looks like this is the shot they used for the t-shirt!!! If not, they recreated this angle for it,
  3. Looks like the side toast version, although the picture is taken from a bit of a side angle, not head on as in the picture in this thread. If you're looking at the back of the shirt, she's on the right and she's "toasting" the left side of the shirt. The tour schedule is then listed under her trumpet.
  4. She's on the back of tour shirt that just debuted in Murfreesboro.
  5. Does anyone have a source for the type of poles that SCV and Cadets used in 2007 - they have some sort of spring loaded mechanism that allows a flag to appear "magically"? I'm specifically looking for poles that will allow you to have two silks. Thanks!
  6. Show times: show start 7:00 PM 7:15 Music City Legend 7:32 Memphis Sound 7:49 Legends critique 8:06 intermission 8:26 Spirit 8:43 Glassmen 9:00 Blue Stars 9:17 Phantom Regiment 9:34 encore: Blue Stars All Times Eastern.
  7. Not sure who exactly was, as you say, "lady-ing" the souvie booth that day, but I have a pretty good idea. More likely than not, those ladies were SCV vets who marched in '82 & '83. So, your emotion was even more of a gift than you know. Thank you from all of us.
  8. If you're looking for a set just for practice, weight lifting gloves (available at any sporting goods store) work great. Otherwise, there are many catalogs that sell performance gloves: www.thebandhall.com, www.bandshoppe.com, www.fjminc.com, etc. Hope that helps!
  9. Put another way.... pure Santa Clara Vanguard!
  10. Beautifully put Brad. Thank you for putting into words what so many of us who knew this amazing man feel. I do feel truly blessed to have known him. I spent the anniversary of his passing with the corps (this past Wednesday) and I know he was there and he was smiling!
  11. Thanks! Felt like it to me on the field on Saturday night. Friday felt phenomenal; Saturday, not so much. Alas. Hope your son stays interested. It's a great feeling. It was fun being a parent volunteer too!
  12. Like everyone else, there are way to many to mention. But the two that stand out for me as a member are: '82 Finals - hearing the deafening crowd roar as we linked hands and lowered to our knees to do the bottle dance. Each of us could feel the energy of every other girl in the guard through our hands. Didn't even feel the skinned knees we got from learning the bottle dance in a carpeted hallway. '83 Prelims - as short lived as it was, being the only corps to beat Garfield that year. Let's hear it for peaking one day too soon! But, topping all of that was watching my daughter perform in her first drum corps show this past summer. That, I will never forget.
  13. My husband and I both thought the venue was fabulous for drum corps. Bloomington was beautiful and we couldn't ask for nicer weather (is it always like that this time of year?). Loved the atmosphere of the town - because it was smaller than a big downtown metropolitan area, we were constantly in the presence of other drum corps fans, which made it that much more fun. It was very nice to be able to watch the corps warm-up in areas with such beautiful surroundings with plenty of shade. Although I know the corps had to walk a ways from warm-up to the stadium, at least there were plenty of areas for them to go without having to go by bus (like Pasadena last year) or worry about disrupting what was going on in the stadium (except for the one guard who had their met turned up way too loud at semis). I have heard some concern over the lack of adequate warm-up areas at Lucas Oil. Hopefully that's not the case. I did not make it to Indy except to visit SCV's rehearsal facility on Saturday morning, so I can not comment on this fine city. Hopefully it can live up to Bloomington!
  14. They played as part of their semi-finals warm-up. It sounded phenomenal!

  17. I just spoke to my sister-in-law who is there and she says it looks like it's going to be a beautiful night. Looks like the rain has passed.
