  1. That will NOT happen, especially considering ESPN is all about WINNING! Unless it's a tie for 2nd, I can live with that. Rocketman - anyone see my tie? ampssuck
  2. So, possibilites are, Regiment "could/should" win brass, "could" win percussion, and should win the "visual" subcaption. However, would all this be enough to win the show? Somehow, I imagne they will still find a way to finish 2nd. Rocketman - the conspiracy continues ampssuck
  3. I want BD to rip my face off, not talk my head off! Rocketman - louder! ampssuck
  4. I think they had a better shot last year. I like em! Rocketman - what time is it ampssuck
  5. And can you tell me the "WOW" moments in Cadets and Cavies? (waiting, waiting, waiting) "WOW" moments, though great, have largely gone by the way side in favor of gimmicks, amplification (which I guess is a gimmick) and artsy. Considering that the Regiment has historically been the most maligned corps in DCI, it should come as no surprise to anyone that if they're going to botch a score, it would be the Regiment's. Rocketman - Flame on ampssuck
  6. Problem is, they should be winning GE Music as well. (since they are one of the few corps in the top 4 actually PLAYING music. Rocketman - music? what music? ampssuck
  7. What a joke! Guess they REALLY don't want a tie. Yeah, I imagine the last thing they want on ESPN 2 is NO WINNER! Rocketman - it isn't '96, but I see second in the very near future ampssuck
  8. Problem is, I don't believe there is a discernable difference in performance levels between these three corps. Better product is too subjective. What defines a better product? Currently, based on judging, snippets of music, as opposed to actual melodies, is a better product. I don't like it, but that's the way it is! Rocketman - I don't see crow on the menu ampssuck
  9. Thank you! Rocketman - was there drum corps in the 70's? ampssuck
  10. And how many times had/has it happend before or since? Thus, perhaps that is how the "determination" was made. Just a thought! Rocketman - "in third place with a score of 97.45, The Ca..............." inaudible due to crowd noise. ampssuck
  11. I know this is going to come across as a "homer" but, after seeing ALL the corps in Allentown, I was less than impressed with both Cavies and Cadets visual program. To me, it is not as good as some past productions. Thus, the gap, between those two and the Regiment has narrowed considerably. Does that mean I think the Regiment will win? No. It is obvious by the scores that the "decision" has been made. However, I will be happy to come back on here and eat crow should they pull it off. Rocketman - yummy! ampssuck
  12. That is what concerns me the most. While the Cadets may be able to pull this off, they are alone. The "me too's" don't stand a chance and shouldn't try. Guess that sounds a bit negative. Rocketman - Go Corps! ampssuck
  13. I'm sorry, but that is just bunk! What the heck is so difficult about Cadets or Cavies show that causes you to think that way? In so many other ways the Regiments show is SUPERIOR to those, that the supposed "difficulty" of their shows is negated. Rocketman - getting a little huffy here (takes a breath) ampssuck
  14. As probably the oldest alum to post, as of yet, (76-79), I would like to offer my sincere congrats on a fantastic production that transcends the competitive nature of the activity, and is by far on a level all its own. Regardless of how some arbitrary score rates your performance, you have to know that this year you have gone where few corps have dared to go and we alum couldn't be prouder. I won't be at finals, but was there in Allentown, and I'll leave you with this one last thought. As you take the field next Saturday, for some of you it will be your last time in a Regiment uniform. Cherish that moment and all those you have shared throughout your Regiment career. There are very few of us that have walked off the field Saturday evening as winners, but we have all left as champions. I have no doubt you will do the same. Now, get out there and blow the house down! Jeff Davis aka Rocketman - Regiment Rocks!
  15. I wish I shared your certainty Rocketman - are you sure ampssuck
  16. I am both a Regiment honk and critic. Allentown was my first viewing of all corps. Regiment has certainly stepped up to the plate in visual this year and I did not find it to dissimilar to the Cadets or Cavies, both of whom I believe have not put out their best visual product. Thus you have melody (Regiment) Vs snippets (Cavies) Vs notes (Cadets). In the end, I believe the judges, for now, prefer notes. Thus Cadets will win. Lastly, I was hoping they (Regiment) would have finished a bit closer, say within 1.5. However, I would not be surprised if they did take silver next Saturday. The difference between these three shows is in concept. One does not stand out as head and sholders above the others in terms of complexity (visually). Rocketman - pass me a beer ampssuck
  17. And since I missed it, I'm living in the past? Look, Brian, Mr. leadsopranoman, as if, my "living in the past" has nothing to do with what BD is "attempting" to do. It either works or it doesn't, for me, it doesn't, for you it might. Though I agree with the poster that indicated they should actually be playing the music the couples are dancing to. That would make sense. Oh but wait, we can't have something in a corps show that actually makes sense, can we? Lastly, while I expected less, from the horn line, I was surprised at what they played. Rocketman - living in the past, I guess ampssuck
  18. You mean somebody won? I was so distracted/annoyed by the naration I completely mised it. Rocketman - no amps ampssuck

  21. Holly Crap! Back in "my day", half, no, three quarters, wait, nine tenths of the staff could have been hauled away for drunk and disorderly in public! Rocketman - another (hic) beer please ampssuck
