Don't know how much that will help BDB...... The Wright brothers had to leave Dayton to go to Kitty Hawk due to Dayton's lack of ideal flight conditions. I think Teal Sound has this one in the bag...... Great things from what i hear.

They meet this Sunday in Dayton OH. The Birthplace of aviation. DCI has a cool schedule feature on there website. It lists all of the shows and what cors will be at what shows.

I thought the show was great last night! Lots of really great things going on in the activity. It was good to see all of the High School band kids at the show. The show is a great service provided byYEA\Vivace\Geogre Parks. They are providing a great experience to the future of our activity. It was refreshing to see a group of humans enjoy the show on a purely emotional level. I think a lot of "fans" get wrapped up in all the false negativity around the activity. Parking, Concessions, Traffic, Crowd Control......... It's really easy to focus on the things that could have been done better, and not the things that actually matter. Last night a large group of individuals got together to view the best show on earth..... That is what matters. Thanks once again to the students of the camp for being a great audience!

Lame Stadium? I think the vantage point and size of J. Birney are actually pretty good. As far as night life goes........ The hot dog joint across the road is usually good. There is also a decent bar directly across the street from the stadium. But the ultimate place to be is in a new found "friends" cooler in the parking lot. Nothing brings the community together like a cooler full of adult beverages enjoyed responsibly.

I'm sure the people who had to clean the uniforms enjoyed this.

How did you old timers do it back in the day? Did you even have recaps before Al Gore built the internet? Did you have to wait until the DCW scroll hit your front doorstep? Im glad we are not living in those dark and troubled times anymore!

It would be great if the local VFW would invite all of the Staff members over for a "welcome" party. I am sure these hard working individuals need a little time to relax. Also a great time for all of the staffs to get to know each other!

I got ahold of the director through the myspace page. Really nice guy! If all goes well I will be there new Visual Caption head! This is going to be a really great start up project next year. If you have any interest on joining the visual staff please PM so we can get this thing rolling. Or skating..... not sure of the direction we will be going. I completly agree that these are two seperate issues. The circumstances are not even close. Or are they............. wait...... No one knows what is really going on at either drum corps. -Some people are assuming that OC went on tour $25,000 in the hole. - Some people are questioning Teal's cash managment/security practices. The facts are that no one has a clue of the facts. There was a thread not to long ago about Americans taking the guilty unitl proven innocent mentality. This seems like more of that. I applaud newfan06 for including the phrase "If it is in fact true". Newfan06 is not making judgments based off "things he was told by a friend who had a kid in the corps"... we need more of that. We all neeed to leave space for innocence in the catacombs of our brains.

God would not take a penalty for silly hashmarks. Back when I marched we didn't need any hashmarks. Kids nowadays.

On the first day....... God created drum corps. On the second day......... Gold Bond. On the third......... Field Paint. On the fourth....... Water Coolers. On the fifth day..... Naked Bus Rides. On the Sixth day....... He didn't make the night show. On the seventh day..... He rehearsed. When God speaks to us is it considered narration?

Ahh.... the metal bar. Now I'm with you...... I've seen this metal bar deal done before. The sound is cool. The only catch is that is will not project through a big hornline. If you have a small hornline (like Spartans) it works great. I guess it depends on what size band you teach. On another front....... I wish i heard more "metal" sounds in the Spartans show this year. The only metal sounds that are prominetly featured are propane tanks and break drums. At this point i think the "Metallic Soundscapes" aspect of the show is not being fully exploited. But what do i know........ Maybe they are trying to represent the "metal" by creating esoteric soundscapes that do not involve metal sounds. Who Knows...... What will these designers thin of next
