  1. I have been on both the Fan Network site and the DCI site and written to both "tech support" or "customer service" contacts with a pretty simple question--what is DCI and/or the Fan Network going to do to assure that I have a quality viewing experience on Saturday night, before I decide to drop an additional $49? I got an e-mail back from the Fan Network site that my message was "undeliverable". I guess that is probably because they have been flooded with complaints. I have yet to hear back from the folks at DCI.
  2. Atlanta VOD is back online and working properly.
  3. I wrote their tech support yesterday morning about this and haven't received a reply yet. I have generally been pleased with Fan Network over the past several years, but they seem to be having a few more problems this summer.
  4. Would this be the same thing that my buddies and I used to call "good from far, but far from good?"
  5. I think it's interesting that not many people catch that, or at least have commented on it. Last summer, it was in the show twice, and this summer it is in there once. My speculation is that Sully throws that in as a tribute to the "old-school" Blue Knights.
  6. Yes, that is correct. A free FN stream until the top 15, then you have to go to the theater to see the rest.
  7. But the DCI show is not in the IMAX theater...just in one of the smaller regular theaters. I always go the the Cinemark on Carefree (because it's 5 minutes from my house), and it is a decent crowd. I don't personally know how the crowds are at the other two theaters in C-Springs, but I've heard they are similar.
  8. I usually text with my son once or twice a week. He's like his old man...he just doesn't have a lot to say: My text to him: Wow, I saw the show on Fan Network last night and I though you guys looked and sounded great. It's really starting to come together! His text back, several hours later-- Yeah, we had a good run. Oh, well...at least I find out he's still alive.
  9. While I like Sideways' kind of thinking, and perhaps DCI would consider that for next year, I believe that they use the averages of scores at San Antonio, Atlanta and Allentown to set the order. And they somehow work the open class corps in there, also, and that may be based on their scores in Michigan City the previous couple of days.
  10. Now there's an idea. A blockbuster movie about the struggles and triumphs of a big-time drum corps blogger, Michael Boo, played by Nicholas Cage. I'd pay $1.50 to see that
  11. That is usually by the choice of the corps, as that is now controlled by each individual corps. A few years ago, they were given more flexibility as to how their corps is introduced, and if the PA announcer is on the field, just watch him and you will see a corps staff member standing next to him giving a cue when to make the announcements. If you watch closely, no two corps do it the same any more. The days of "Drum major, is your corps ready...wait for salute...you may take the field, etc. are gone.
  12. My live feed has been smooth all afternoon. In the past when I've had troubles, I will clear my cookies and cache, etc. and restart the computer and it seems to help.
  13. There's probably a lot of tight-### drum corps purists that will pooh-pooh what Surf does, but I find that show great fun to watch!
