  1. theyve done it the past couple of years now, just small changes for a specific show.
  2. The best place to buy gloves, tuners and metronomes, and anything else one might need when preparing to march, online? edit: any preferences on any of these things also?
  3. yuo can always do what my highschool did, have the kids order the pants for themselves then have part of their dues go towards a vest or top piece. who says the band needs to look like all the other highschools in the area? but this was because the director hated the uniforms we had. they were at least 10-15yrs old, had tuxedo jacket with seperate overlay, heavy thick nasty fabric, and loads of buttons that broke all the time. overall bad time
  4. i wonder how long it took them to tape an individuals band performance. on florida, there are spots where there are shadows and bright sun but when the camera changes, there is no sun and no shadow.
  5. '03 '05 '07 '08 Scouts '03 '07 Phantom '07 Academy '07 Cavaliers '05 '06 '07 '08 Bluecoats '03 Spirit '00 Blue Devils
  6. if theres still kids who want to do it, fans who want to see it, and directors who will still deal with it, then it wont fail. DCI maybe but it would only take a new name
  7. no see this one is different because its only 7, not 10... duh
  8. so it sounded like they just added new voices into the sound and slowly had them repeat. and if not, there were some kind of repeats or other things in therethat sounded funny
  9. apparently i missed this entire picture. and good call, i would have missed it for sure
  10. it might be the 28snares that are throwin off the proportions... but what do i know im just a trumpet player
  11. i can only hope for something so cool when i march...
  12. this is the defining thing that pushed phantom into the winners circle this year... http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...;hl=blue+devils
  13. alright so i didnt say phantom or crown or coats or scouts were out of tune or played bad, im just saying volume means nothing if you cant control it... and every show i saw the corps could control it. and yea i failed on the 10%more thing, but hey it was just a thought.
  14. what if, and this is a big what if, they just had rules that tightend what they already have? i mean there seem to be a lot of loose ends out there, shouldnt they worry about what they have first before trying to get more in? in seriousness, they should make a rule where new rules can be proposed every X years that way they arent trying to reinvent the activity every few years, and people can really take thought into what they are proposing. finally, for the people who run the sound boards, make a rule where you must wear some sort of uniform. they look so stupid and unproffesional wearing hawaiin shirts, cargo khaki shorts, and flip-flops.
  15. when they decided to take that giant 'sword' set out, that and all the killings. yes it was the killings. the judges knew that phantom was out for blood this year, and if they(the judges) got in the way, they would end up on the ground like everybody else.
  16. i saw crown 3 times, and someone please help me remember why they are ahead in this poll? yes they had some pretty sweet loud hits and what not, but if you had almost 10% more bodies in your hornline, should you not also have a 10% greater sound all the time? no im not corps bashing, i thought they had a good show that was easy to like and even easier to have stuck in your head months after last hearing their show and for that, they deserve credit. i voted phantom, but bluecoats also came to mind along with scouts. finally what is a loud corps that is dirty? i <3 me some loud corps, but only if they can stay in tune
  17. have they recently updated some of the pictures on the site, or am i crazy? ex. when you click on corps at the top, is the phantom picture that shows up in the middle new? finally when do they update the clip for each corps for their specific page? edit:spelling
  18. im still confused with one thing... dont corps get housing at h.s. free? and if its a no, then its understandable why they dont want to have a long season. then again, some h.s. should enjoy having the corps stay there, it can show the students what you accomplish if you dont screw around at all the wrong times. so really the only thing that would benefit of having a shorter season is less $$$ for food. all the miles driven, which =gas money, could be avoided if corps didnt do things like go back and forth needlessly from one town to another, dont deny that it doesnt happen. if they picked the best path from point a to b and the best housing sites between the points and didnt travel 50miles to the side to stay somewhere when there was just as good a place 2miles off to the side. my main point is the first part, cause i always thought most corps stayed in h.s. free everynight
  19. i can see it now, a certain corps being pulled off by a certain director, because the field crew messed up. again
  20. wouldnt the fact that there are speakers and things everywhere for concerts have something to do with the acoustics? in otherwords couldnt the people that did the mixing of the audio have fixed it better so everyone everywhere could hear properly?
  21. at least im not the only one who doesnt know how to put multiple quotes into 1 post
  22. When is the next seasons schedule announced usually? Is there a way to guess when certain events might be based on previous years, or is it all just really random?
