At one time I had high hopes for Southwind. They had a much larger corps pre-Covid with a horn line that was turning heads. This is just my observation so anyone in the know please correct me. It seems logistically the Gulf Coast corps with the exception of Texas has a harder go at filling the ranks. One corps already disappeared anonymously. I hope the others don’t follow suit.

It would seem to level the playing field if a couple moved up. With BDB not leaving California and SVCC probably not coming back for a long time if at all, the gap between them and smaller corps such as 7th Regiment and Southwind etc maybe more competitive.

Mmmm clutter in that really see 16 to 20. Good that they have a few more days. Looks unfinished. But here’s hoping!

Since we are in the era of costumes I really like those. Yep I do.

With the exception of Spartans, the open class east of the Mississippi don’t seem to be doing as well with recruiting and membership.

Open class predictions 1. Spartans 2. Gold 3. Battalion 4. Columbians 5. Guardians 6. River City 1-6 Larger open class corps seem to be rebounding nicely. 7. 7th Regiment 8. Raiders 9. Southwind 10. Les Stentors 11. Colt Cadets

Genius! I immediately thought of Johnny Depp character in the movie From Hell. Not that the Bluestars show is my any mean’s macabre. Just the absinthe reference of which the Depp character like to partake.

I do wish the Blue Stars could break into the top 5. Their shows flow so well and make sense without me having to analyze and breakdown everything to get it.

I caught some of the show music at their standstill on YouTube. It was a little raw but just hearing sounds coming from them again was emotional, and I don’t get that way at all. I feel they at best will stay in the 16 to 20 range for the summer. They were on a great trajectory with The Bottle Tree but things went south as everyone knows. I hope they can find that again.

What happened to Louisiana Stars? Seemed future was bright. I know years have been lean since COVID. It seems the Gulf Coast Corps have trouble filling the ranks.

Very excited for this top 12 tonight. Sorry and sad for Blue Knights and Crossmen. I’m no expert but I have been around for awhile to put my 2 cents in. Blue Knights looked like Blue Knights, I just missed those unique thought provoking shows I got used to from them. Crossmen, I don’t know who you were. I did enjoy the show but you guys have lost something. Bones in the end zone was my only recognition. And who knows what would have happened if SOA and Cascades were in the mix.

Ahh. I left after Blue Devils.
