  1. So let me get this straight: If the Scouts were trying something completely different, everyone will complain about them straying away from their tradition and not being the Scouts. If the Scouts do something they have had success with in the past, people will complain about them beating a dead horse. So...what are they supposed to do? And if what you guys are saying about it just being a short quote is true, here is my $.02: No one complained about the Malaguena quote in the 05 show.
  2. And doing the same show two years in a row isn't excessive? No one gets mad at SCV for doing Phantom of the Opera twice.
  3. Malaga? No way! But as an opener? Hopefully I'll get a chance to see this sometime this summer. Not quite sure how though...
  4. Wow....and people are going to buy this?
  5. I LOVE PB&J. I have one for breakfast on toast at least 3/4 times a week. Also, it's a great snack when you feel a little hungry. Anyways, when you work a restaurant and roll step when you deliver food because it keeps it steady on the plate (especially soup) You look at a drummer's rack tan and think, "dang, that is awesome" You get your final assignment in Theory class where you have to compose a piece implementing topics discussed all year, and you instantly think you're going to write a piece for a drum corps hornline You actually write said piece for a drum corps hornline You're a music education major and you're already planning what kind of marching shows you'll do with your band, and how you're going to arrange tunes (I actually asked my band director for a score so I could get started now)
  6. No. Alabama is the worst place in the country. Walk outside at 8 am and actually SEE the moisture in the air. Gross. I have never broken a sweat walking to the rehearsal field, and on that day I was already soaked before we stretched. Humidity sucks.
  7. This is my age out year. I've planning on this being my age out year. I planned to march 3 years and age out. I want to age out this year. There is no way I'd march next year. And I'd be ###### if I didn't get to think of my last year as my age out year and get to be in the age out ceremony.
  8. How about you pay for someone else's dues? Give them the opportunity you have already been given.
  9. No. I want to find a job when I graduate, not march corps. Something about schools hiring teachers during the summer before school starts. Weird, right?
  10. It's the gypsies. Or the Republicans. By the way, that was a joke. It was not meant to be a stab at the Republican party. Not at all.
  11. Forgive me if this has already been said or whatnot, but I don't have the time to read 13 pages right now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like a lot of people are getting upset about the Cadets using a piano this summer. Me, I'm ok with it, and here is why: - They WON'T be the only corps using a synth keyboard. I mean, other corps have openly stated they will be using the new opportunities provided by a synth but no one is getting upset at them. - I have this image in my mind of them having a grand piano set on the middle of the field for some reason. And this doesn't bug me because last year they put a stage on the middle of the field, and at least a piano makes music. I highly doubt this will happen, but it's actually kind of neat to think about. - Pianos are cool. They add a neat flavor. I'm actually excited to see what they do. - No one knows how much piano they are going to use. It might turn out to be a very small deal.
  12. I call them turf turds. Whatever they are, they're a pain in the butt when you get a ton of them in your shoe. They also unscrewed the valve caps a bit so they would click and be more audible, I think.
  13. "I march in Phantom cause I can't play jazz" ?
  14. So am I the only person who likes Atlanta over San Antonio? Is it cause a lot of people are from Texas, and it's close to home?
  15. Like everyone else, I really liked the BD one, especially when he comes down the elavator. But I loved the Blast video.
  16. Indianapolis: was terrible. The RCA Dome was the worst acoustically. Soooo boomy. Really glad it's gone. Denver: I have never marched on a better field. That grass is just so perfect. The days prior to it are kind of hard at first, getting used to the altitude change. San Antonio: Big deal because it's the first two-show regional. Seems kind of dark in the stadium when you walk in though. I forgot to put on lotion last year and burned my chops in the lot for the afternoon show, that was no fun. Atlanta: My favorite of the domed regionals. I think it's the least boomy of the domes, and it's so much brighter than the Alamodome. Also, it's closer to Finals so it's "more important" (not quite sure what the word I'm looking for there) Allentown: There's nothing like looking up at those stands. And it's nice to be back outside for a regional. Finding a warm up spot can be a little bit of a pain, and if you go into the park, you have to look out for goose droppings when setting your hat and uni down. With that said, I really enjoy them all. Drum corps on the weekend is fun. But I'd have to say Allentown and Atlanta are my favorites.
  17. That guy =  I can't imagine what it would feel like to take a rifle to the head, let alone while playing.
  18. If you watch closely in Phantom's show, after Spartacus dies in the drum break, he crawls about 5 yards inside the hornline block after he dies to get to his dot, where he lays for the rest of the show. Unfortunately, the camera is focused right on the area around him. I don't think we were supposed to see that.
  19. Dude you have A LOT of time on your hands. Very new and "innovative" poll. Way to think outside the box and bring up something completely new.
  20. Blue Devils- That they're not going to roll over and die after last summer. Maybe try to prove that DCI was wrong?
  21. 2003 and 2006 Phantom. 2008 Bluestars. 1995 Madison.
