Before getting turned off to DCI, they have to see it, taste it,hear it, feel it. John Q Public just dont care. He wont get to that point to have an "honest" opinion. He can give you his "honest" opinion on Dancing with the stars or Desparate Housewives cause he watches that, gets to see it, hear it, feel it. So that stuff he will have an opinion on. Millions of people like, enjoy, know artwork. paintings. I dont, I dont care that I dont, its not part of my life, am i missing something? sure. But to include that in my life, i would have to adjust other things that are important to me.

Bingo!!! Tell them the difference between MB and DCI until they are blue in the face and it will still be "who cares". There is just not enough interest by the general public and you cannot manufactor the interest. Marching music as a whole is a nich activity. Years ago, when we watched Saturday Football games on TV, they would tevevise the who halftime show. Today, you might bee 10 seconds. If it drew people to it the producers would show thw halftime bands. Insted they have the halftime commentators.

Understanding and/or knowledge. The masses dont know it and would not understand it anyways. Unless you have a music back ground, marched in school or knows someone who is involved in the activity, you just dont understand it nor do you give it a thought. Go ahead, put it on at prime time on ESPN. See what the viewership numbers are. Pretty low. The general pubic just dosent care. But lest say DCI has a huge budget and can afford to market itself heavely. Still wouldnt get a ton of interest. The avarage person just dosent care nor do they understand the activity. Not do they care. The viewing public would not be able to tell you if BD was better then x-men or if the Cavies are better then Pioneer. It all really looks the same to the untrained eye. There is also not a lot of knowledge of the activity so the public dosent know and cant tell just how good many of the performers are. To them its Marching Band.

Well looks like thet are formally ka-put. They had their web site still up and running but when trying to fing it today it said the site has been suspended. Not looking good for another come back!!!

No its not alright to Boo. This isnt the NFL, MLB, Hockey or the NBA. These are Kids, Ok, young adults who pay to put on a show for you. These "kids" bust their azz all summer and more to put on a show like no other. And you want to Booo? Boo on you!!!

I've only been to a couple of shows in person and I know I like to see the whole show. I dont like to miss any corp. I'll bet if you do miss one or two, you will wish you had seen them. I missed Teals performance in Bowling Green, Oh. due to traffic. I knew I was cutting it close and got there just a few minutes to late. I actually saw some of the performance from the lot. But it sucked. So all I say is even if a couple of corp are not your favorites, if at all possable, try to see them. I think you will be glad you did.

One would wonder why any corp would not want a WGI line. If you want the best...who ya gonna get?? Lets see SCV should pull from Pulse and RCC, yep that might do, a battery filled with Pulse and RCC. I guess they could just weed out all the BA's from WGI lines and just get a battery with NO WGI members. Lets see, yep that sounds good....let all the wgi'ers go down the road to Blue Devils. I think a corp would be nuts not to want WGI lines. Sure some weekends in the winter may be an issue. but that all ends in April.
