  1. this should be a great show! It will be the last one for Cadets without the uniform changes, Cavaliers seem to have some real momentum & I bet BD will throw it down with several corps hot on their heels.
  2. Agree. Crown has the ability (and the time left in the season) to leap frog both corps currently in front of them and repeat. The next 2 weeks are critical.
  3. Hey BRASSO: BRASSO, on 14 Jul 2014 - 2:31 PM, said: rainshdw08, on 14 Jul 2014 - 1:50 PM, said: How about you reply and STOP putting words in my mouth. Thanks man!
  4. ok man. Three times / numerous times. It's not that big a deal to "debate" -- carry on!
  5. This is a straw man argument. The issue I was raising was the statement that "Cadets will win because of WHO they are" - that's just utter BS
  6. are you saying they will ascend to the throne based on WHO they are verses the performances? Because right now BD & Cadets are simply out performing everyone else. Haven't seen Cavaliers live yet to comment on them.
  7. gotcha - that's subjective for sure - from a stylistic standpoint I'd rather all recordings or all narration - not sure many recordings exist from Lincoln -- SO with that said, I like the compromise with the combination. I remember hearing some of those live - powerful memories...
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ktuvQYWygI thanks for sharing - I'd say most of the kids enjoyed it and GOT the message we are all the same (generations) more than we are different
  9. How many positive? And perhaps "several" is the correct adverb my sincere apologies
  10. I was referring to his comments (repeated) about the cadets specifically. he said nice things about all the other corps. Again and again. And Cadets are not "my corps" nor my favorite corps this year. But there's no reason to be downright rude and say things like "they will probably win because they are the Cadets" Or do you defend that sort of statement? I have a feeling you and I agree on 99%
  11. And you've made THAT point numerous times. Unless you are sitting in the first 15 rows in the center it isn't blocking anything. And mostly those seats go EMPTY. And at larger venue it is lower than the first row. So I'd suggest you find something else to hate on in the production. That one is a little lame. IMO.
  12. exactly. Thanks for being so succinct
  13. and we'll just have to completely disagree - the narration was professionally written and is woven perfectly into the musical package. It is a part of the whole then the narrator - what a voice! the strongest narrator seen in the activity thus far the "concept" is one of the "promise of America" and how that's been woven into our leaders' speeches throughout our history / so it calls for narration - the snippets of speeches if you don't like it - that's fine - but "not artful" I simply don't see that, neither do the GE judges... and it is timely - is the "promise of America" still alive today? Many young folks (ie: of MARCHING AGE) can't even get a decent job in their chosen field -- the American dream is becoming a costly and hard to reach "promise" so we'll just disagree.
  14. 51. I'm not sure I get your point. I listen to Sirius the car / also play music off my Galaxy via Pandora etc etc... And yes - I still enjoy the music of TODAY. I'm not one of those folks listening to music popular when I was in HS So maybe I have a little more in common with the kids marching today or considering to march than some other 51 year olds. Or 37 year olds. My point was are you in TUNE with today's trends. Searching out what you like on Pandora etc... may tell me the answer. Which is no?

  16. it's great how the captions are so strong this year - BD wins the night before - Crown wins last night --- amazing lines this year!
  17. well the other thing I work into it is finals is now a live pay-per-view event.. last year I flew home Saturday morning and hosted a large viewing party with friends at my house Saturday night for finals -- with draft beers and awesome munchies I've been to many finals - so for me the "thrill" of that is kinda muted - probably been to 25 of them Now it is just or more enjoyable and cost effective to do the first couple nights and zoom. Especially true if I had kids in tow. Finals night is a little serious and, frankly. LATE
  18. Just a positive shout out to all the Blue Devils members, staff, fans, alumn that might read this: AMAZING program this year. FANTASTIC performance level. just rock-star GREAT! Bravo!
