Why are you so adamant about making this about yourself? Do you have a stake in the game? -

Sweet vid. I think DCA needs a more media-oriented approach just like this. This video almost has 1,000 views. That's a pretty big reach.

I think if Pioneer's admin just allowed it's staff do really do their job at a high level... they'd do well. It's something that is normally seen in the marching band/senior corps scene.... but some people just need to allow their creatives be creative. my 3 cents.

Who is REALLY boycotting DCI?

Everytime people talk about boycotting dci on this site... all i can think is: Seriously. For a bunch of grown men and women, you sure do cry about #### a lot. -

But... that's in the pas..... ah I see what you did there. I wouldn't speak so fast and derogatorily (which seems to be a common thread with u DCP'ers) ... did you check out troopers last year? They were playing some cool beats.

wow. awesome.

uhhhhhh...? lol i dont' know about all of that. it's just 4 notes with some ornamentals and a paradiddle sticking. i'm not sure WHO would be paying this guy for WHAT exactly. All i'm saying is... it's an interesting backstory on something that's been, to this point, passed down from drummer to drummer.

haha I sense your sarcasm. i just thought it was cool... as an outsider in DCI (Fow now... I haven't marched yet)... it's just a really cool perspective to see guys who I've always looked up to being so casual. Plus... it's really cool to get like that behind the scenes stories about these guys. I mean, they were doing drum corps when I was just being born. I dunno, maybe for you older guys it's no big deal... but for me... it's really cool. ok DCP flame away.

I'm kinda new here... I've lurked for quite a while, so I figured I'd finally post something I found this video online... I don't think it violates DCP's video rules. It talks all about the Book Report and how it came about 20 or so years back.... Some big names.... Queen, Sapadin, McIntosh, Hardimon. Really really really cool stuff here. Check it out:

I've watched from afar for a while... and it seems like everyone on here is over obsessed with keeping a YOUTH activity the way it was when THEY were youths. It almost seems like a lot of you feel as if the activity changes... you're really losing a part of youth. I understand wanting to keep things the same... but that's what the Natural History Museum is for. Stop being a bunch of Holden Caufields and allow the activity to grow/change/align with what the youth of 2010 are into. THAT'S how an activity survives. My two cents. Don't call me a troll.
