Actually... yes. Totally legal in Sound Sport

I don't really get into the differences, but yes there is variance slightly in design between Different eras of Bach mpcs. Mt Vernon, Mt Vernon NY, Vincent Bach, small letters, big letters etc can all have subtle differences. I made it easy on myself though, play Curry/ Marcinkiewicz mpcs and have a betterday :)

Future use of Sousaphones in DCI
Soprano Martin replied to Stu's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Eklipse D&BC from Kentucky marched a section of sousas at the beginning of the 2003 season. Their contras had not yet arrived so they did what they could for the first few shows! A sousa section isn't new to DCI... though doesn't mean I like the rule any better... -
Next corps to become world class
Soprano Martin replied to Madisonscoutsfan's topic in DCI Open Class Corps Discussions
My first response on that would be Music City, but with them almost deciding to fold this year until others stepped up I'm guessing thats going to be several years off as they'll need the stability financially to make that kind of jump. Takes some dough to run a World Class Corps! -
Columbus Saints is a new corps in Sound Sport this season, we're off to a fantastic start! Numbers are great and the lines are strong. We do have a few spots left open, looking mainly for trumpets and bass drums! www.columbussaints.org facebook.com/columbussaints

Thanks for noticing, we are very excited for what the new year is bringing for the group! We will be competing in Sound Sport and Drumline Battles this season, last year we competed in Drumline Battle as well as many showcases and other events in the community. As some of you have noticed, we have had a show style drumline in Columbus for 11 years now, and have had success in that medium, and are excited to expand the program. Our dance team has been working for several years now and our new brassline has already had its first performances, and is preparing for the future. As a new soundsport team with a show style backgound part of our goal is to combine traditional show style elements into design with corps style elements and also military style elements to produce a truly unique expirience. Our staff is very diverse, with many years in CYO corps, DCI, DCA, WGI, Military Bands, HBCU bands, and other show style ensembles We are very much so open to members of all ages, currently the youngest member is 8 and has been on the drumline for 2 years, and the oldest member currently is 27 in the hornline. We will have our open house on December 14th at Africentric High School in Columbus. We have openings in all sections, and look forward to seeing lots of new faces there in dance, brass, percussion and conductors. Cadets' carol of the bells

Not sure they really did it based on any one particular version, they pulled in many different motifs and kind of did their own thing. Bocook writes his own variations on pieces very well. -
2014 show announcements?
Soprano Martin replied to CDUB's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
This could be a great show for Phantom! I would love to hear the Lord of the Rings Symphony on the field, I beleive that is by Johan De Meij, written long before the movies, and not related musically to them at all. GREAT music for corps there! -
