Crown performers are learning so much more than their show!

Of all the arrangers in currently working in DCI, Michael Klesch is BY FAR the most respectful of the source music. IMHO his arrangement of Gabriel's Oboe is flat out amazing. It retains the sensitivity and emotion of the original while working in the context of an all-brass, outdoor ensemble. Source music is ALWAYS doing the work at Crown.

Just curious: How many wireless mics and IEMS on brass players? Sounds like the full tuba line is actively mic'd for the entire show. Anyone know the details?

Honestly I think you'll continue to see tremendous growth in this caption. There are some really talented spinners who IMHO just need a few shows under their belts. Not drum corps rookies at all -- just new to CrownGuard and all that that implies.

oh and about last night. nice start. lot of work to do. exciting things ahead.

So literally none of their show will be on the DVD? Permission to arrange is one thing. But what are the sync rights for this repertoire going to cost? And will DCI be willing to pay them?

Crown made finals in just their sixth year of existence (and only missed finals once since then -- thanks 2002! ) . Happy 30th Crown 🙂

Yes. They have colored transparent sections on them but you can always see “through”.

I used it all the time but apparently lost the ability to spell it correctly.

Interesting stat. How long since BAC beat Crown? 12 or 13 years I think. BAH just discovered corpsfan.com is no more. I will MISS that site.

Worth noting that Cavaliers didn’t get outscored by BAC until the last weekend in July. And it was the first time they’d outscored them in 4-5 years. I wouldn’t count the Cavaliers out with regards to competing with BAC. They have five years of history where BAC never beat them. BAC has 2 weeks of history at the end of last season. Perspective. Oops
